Long ago on a faraway island, lived a girl her 

name was Ruby. At the age of five Ruby lost 

both her parents and lived on this island alone. 

After years she grew up, however she was not 

alone on the island. The island was full of 

mystery, magic, mystical and mythical creatures 

and something very very dangerous. Everyday 

of Ruby's life she has been trying to find out  

about what makes the island so mysterious.

One day a ship, sailed to the island and ruby was at 

the beach trying to spy something that was in the 

water. She didn't notice the ship until it came into 

clear view, and to her shock she saw pirates and 

unfortunately for her they spotted her and were 

headed straight for her! So she runs back to the 

safety of her home in the jungle.

As Ruby ran through the forest she heard the pirate 

ship come ashore, Ruby became anxious and 

scared and started picking up her pace. Over all the 

noises of the forest were the voices of the pirates 

entering the forest lead by the voice of their 

captain. Ruby ran and ran until she was completely 

out of breathe so she stopped and hid among the 

branches catching her breathe, and hoping not to 

be seen by any of the pirates.

Fear welled up inside of Ruby, she was so afraid 

that she ran as fast as she could deep into the forest 

and away from the pirates. She was still running 

until she reached the doors of a castle, she 

wondered why she had never came across this part 

of the forest, but she heard the pirates coming and 

thought that it was safe to enter the castle but she 

wondered what she would find inside and would 

whatever it is behind these doors be the answers 

she seeks. Excitement grew in her as she entered 

but what she saw replaced that feeling of 

excitement.

Ruby was shocked, for what she saw inside were 

creatures that she thought didn't exist. Ruby was 

frozen to where she was because in the middle was 

an old woman in black clothes standing around what 

looked like a book. Ruby was glued to the spot until 

she heard the mention of her and her family did she 

move to find a spot to hear more clearly as to what 

the black clothed woman was saying.
