I dedicate this book to my family and my fellow classmates from Team Gowana 6-1

“AHHH!,” Ethan screams.
He was watching a scary scene in from favorite show. It was
Halloween night of 2018, with a cold wind whistling, a full
moon shining, and kids in the cutest, scariest, and funniest costumes.
Halloween was in fact Ethan Dunson’s favorite holiday, not because of the dressing up, the candy, and the tricks, but binge-watching his favorite horror television show series, “13 Ghosts”
Ethan waits until his 2 younger siblings and his mother leave to go trick-or-treating. His younger brother, Devin, was 10 years old and dressed as a ice cream cone. His younger sister, Lucy, was 7 years old and dressed as a ladybug. Even though, Ethan was only 15, wore glasses, was tall, and geeky, he would much rather give away than get any candy. He didn’t really like trick or treating. The second Ethan’s mother was out of the house with his siblings, he started to binge.
“Ding dong,” the doorbell rings. Ethan grunts, pauses his show, and walks towards the front door. He opens the door and sees a short little boy with pale skin, tall black hair, and a vampire costume. “Hello, I’m Danny. Trick or treat!” he says squeakily. Ethan throws a hand-full of chocolate candy in his bright yellow jack o lantern bucket. Milky Ways, Snickers, and M&M’s filled Danny’s bag. Ethan then goes back to sit in his seat.
“Ding dong,” the doorbell rings. When Ethan opens the door he sees the same boy. “I’m allergic to chocolate, I can’t eat this. Do you have any lollipops? I love lollipops,” he said quickly. “I’m sorry little boy, that’s all I have,” Ethan says.
Danny smiles sinisterly, and then tells Ethan, “It’s okay, everyone makes mistakes.” Danny turns around, walks away, and Ethan shuts the door. The door squeaked loudly as if it was a hundred year old door. He goes back to his favorite seat in the living room, and once he remained in his seat, he unpaused the TV, grabbed the silky blue pillow, and started to watch “13 Ghosts”
A breeze came through the window Ethan was sitting in front of, and he got annoyed. He turned around and got on his knees to shut the window behind the couch. Then, the lights flickered and Ethan grew weary. He just ignored it, and continued watching TV.
All of sudden, the lights flickered again. Ethan knew something was up. He got out of his seat and went to go check upstairs. “Hello,” he called. There was no response. He hit the lightswitch, but it didn’t turn on.
“Bang! Crash!”
The sound of a glass vase pummeled the ground. Slowly, he staggered up the wooden spiral steps hoping he wouldn’t fall because of fear. His sense of touch was leading the way now. No lights, no sounds, just touch. Danny almost refused to continue up the stairs as the smell of stinky cheese hit him, but he successfully made it to the top step. After that, he reached forward to find his way towards the closet to grab a flashlight, but touched an unknown object in front of him.
“Hello I’m Danny,” the object said. Ethan came to a realization. It wasn’t an object, but a boy. The lights turned on without the touch of a switch, and Ethan gasped. The voice, words, and the ridiculous vampire outfit was all the same. The boy pushed Ethan down the stairs with all of his might. Step by step, Ethan continued to fall. Then unexpectedly, Ethan feel off the side of the metal banister.
