We dedicate this story to our fellow Haki Makians that still exist to this day. We also dedicate this story to a special Haki Makian that is named, Chief Maui Haui, who sacrificed his life for his people.

Have you ever wondered, what lies beneath the ocean? What wonders and mysteries lie in the farthest waters and the bluest sea? Let us show you what we mean.
Once upon a time, long, long ago, there was a hidden civilization that no one really knew about. They were called the Hakians. The Hakians people lived on what is now known as the Hawaiian islands, but now live underwater.
The Hakians spoke Hakakian. They had other ways of communication such as drawing, and their own language with their hands that ONLY Hakians knew.
The Hakians were religious. They believed in Aqua the water goddess, Alectrona the light goddess, Ignatius the god of fire, Eifah the god of darkness, and Terramina the goddess of earth.
The Hakian people had underwater transportation that gets them from one island to another. But of course on one island they have one transportation, boat.

Each island had exactly one leader. Between each island, there is an appointed leader but the people always have a final say.
When the Hakian people have a meeting or a problem, they gather each island and all the people who choose to participate and give each person either a piece of iron or a piece of gold.
On either sides of the room, underground that is, there are two wooden buckets. One labeled with 'I' and the other labeled with 'G'. The job of both the buckets was to vote on if they wanted one thing or if they wanted the other, mostly used for war or economy.

When Hakian people got bored, or did not know how to spend their time, they would go hunting. Mostly for fish, as they had a strict diet of fish and crops.
Each night they would gather on each island, to praise their fire god, Ignatius, and secure their power. They would also gather their hunted fish, place them over the fire and use such food to praise their earth goddess, Terramina.

The Hakian people had three types of people; trades people, hunters, and farmers. The farmers worked full time, as the mild climate and fertile soil meant for the crop season to never end.

They say that if you stand on the ocean's edge and yell out "Haki Maki Kaka!" the Hakians people respond with a splash and a dash. So if you ever go to the ocean, be careful, or you too could disappear...
