I'm not scared of my final with storyjumper!

I really liked StoryBird and I thought it was a great way to
get started in the class. I sometimes feel not very creative
and a tool like StoryBird made it seem so much easier.
I am definitely a digital immigrant. I felt like computers and
technology where really not needed in our home for a long
time. I think I was around 27 before we brought a
computer into our home. I now understand the importance
of technology but it needs to be monitored with children.
I feel like I had a pretty good understanding of copyright
laws but I had no idea about the picture rights. I have been
using picture on a lot of things and never realized that was
a form of plagiarizing if you don't give credit.

don't use that website!
I think that the computer and other technology are wonderful
teaching tools. Children can speak the language of technology
so well and it seems to make learning so interesting to them as
soon as you put technology with it. Safety is a huge concern for
most parents and teachers. The websites have to be monitored
by you not someone else that is not worried about the best
interest of your child or class. How do you know what the find
appropriate? There where many good websites out there for
education but that does not mean they are perfect the teacher
or parent still needs to watch. I think children learn a lot from
technology computer, TV, We should use their interest to
teach them.
I loved creating the Newsletter. I have received them for the
past 4 years and never knew how time consuming they where
to create. I have used the ones I have gotten to learn so much
about my children's class life and I understand how important
they are to staying connected.

we are going to beput in this word

I think some of my websites would fall into the
categories of just remembering and
understanding. I also think there is a
possibility to go farther with the websites to
Analyze and Evaluate. I also think on some of
them there is the possibility to even create like
on ABCya.

I think the WebQuest is a great idea. I feel like my knowledge of
what all computers and computer programs can do holds me back
sometimes. I do feel like I have learned a lot and would like to put
all this new technology knowledge to use very soon. I feel like by
exploring so many different things some of which I had never
heard of I will have so much to offer. The WebQuest is something
I think we could do as a whole class in my future teaching. I plan
on teaching pretty young students and I think it would be
something great to do together.
I really liked two of the Websites that you had one was in
Evaluating http://www.watchknowlearn.org/default.aspx
the other was one I already knew about but had not seen this
particular part which was creating word clouds
http://www.abcya.com/word_clouds.htm. I think we always want
to be aiming towards the top of the Bloom's Taxonomy for our
students. That is why I picked from Evaluating and Creating. The
higher up the Blooms the higher the thought level.
