Once upon a time, one cute princess was born, her father the king held a celebration in a beautiful garden. But a evil witch cursed the princess couldn't grow up unless she had been placed around 10000 flowers in three months.

No one even knows what does a flower looks like, but there was a old wise man said he will plant it in 3 months.

The old man found a farm, and bought a lot of flower seeds. He planted all of it.
He knew all about planting, the flower seeds he bought were irises, daffodils, orchid and tulips. He found a piece of green grassland, he had thrown all the seeds to the ground, the sun was hot, and he watered it everyday.

The water goes into the roots of the flower, and the sunshine shines the leaves of the flowers. The resources are converted into chemical energies, and oxygen is released as a byproduct!
Reactants: water, sunlight.
products:oxygen

6O2
The carbon dioxide form the flowers itself and the chemical energy from the water and sun's chemical reaction are converted into glucose.
Reactants: carbon dioxide, chemical energy.
products:glucose.

All the changes are made in a plant cell organelle called chloroplast, and the reaction is called photosynthesis. There are two phases consisted in the reaction, one is light dependent reaction, which is to make the water and light absorbed from the environment to chemical energy, and oxygen as a byproduct.
The other phase is called the Calvin Cycle, which is to use the chemical energy produced in the light reaction to convert carbon dioxide to glucose. Most plants perform photosynthesis to keep their life operating. In addition, that also impacts human's life, if we don't have photosynthesis, the plants will all die, then the animals who eat plants will die. Lastly, to we the humans, will also die because of the food is vanishing!
On the other hand, it would be a boring world without plants and beautiful flowers!
As for the end of the story, the flowers had been successfully planted, the princess grew up, and the king was so happy!
