The Nervous System

The nervous system receives
tons of information from all over
the body and then will choose
the correct action the body will
make, resulting in ones behavior.

Neurons

Neurons are the core of the nervous system.
Although there are many different
types of neurons, each has their own
function.

Dendrites, a projection from
the neuron, will take information into
the cell body and axons, another
projection, will take information
out of the cell.

Neurotransmitters

Neurotransmitters send
information to another
neuron telling the neuron to
either stay silent or to send
another signal to a part of
the body, resulting in the action
of the behavior.

Peripheral Nervous

System

The peripheral nervous system is just
a section from the complete
nervous system.

The peripheral nervous system will
take the information and send it to
either to central nervous system or
the organs.

Central Nervous

System

The central nervous system contains
the spinal cord and brain.

The brain and spinal cord are the
main way information will be spread
across the body.
