This book is dedicated to my wonderful boyfriend, Matthew. This story would not even exist without him.

Of course I do Matthew. How in the world could I forget something like that?
Charity, do you remember how we met?
Present Day

Four Years Ago:
It was a rainy day in April, about four years ago now, and my aunt and I were with my little cousin's Cub Scout pack to their district wide family camp. I had no desire to go, but my aunt made me come with them.

It rained all through the night and into the early hours of the morning. It rained so much that our entire campsite became flooded! Every single member of the group I came with was miserable.

We were all wide awake by two in the morning because the rain had made us cold. One of the men in the group decided to build a fire to keep the group warm. Everybody gathered around the fire until it was time to go to the mess hall.

At four in the morning, a small group of us became tired of staying at the cold, wet campsite, so we decided to go to the mess hall in search of coffee.

My aunt and I both grab a cup of coffee once the cooks said the coffee was ready and sat down at a table to drink it. The boys were running around and helping the cooks prepare the tables for the breakfast rush.

I had almost finished my second cup of coffee when I saw a handsome young man walk into the mess hall. He was about my age and was wearing scouting attire. It was obvious that is was one of the scouts that was helping run the camp that weekend.

He did not know me from anybody else at the camp, but he smiled at me and walked over to me anyway. Once he reached me, he looked at me and said,
You look cold and miserable. You also look like you could use a friend.

At that time, he had no idea how right he was about me, so I just smiled back at him and said,
You're exactly right. Would you like to join me and play a game of cards?

He agreed, and we began to play several games. Unfortunately, our time together came to an end. We were forced to go our separate ways.

After breakfast, I went to help dry out the camp,

and he went to help at the craft area. We feared that we would never see each other again, but our fears were proven unjustified at lunch because once again we saw one another.

I was going through the salad line at lunch time when I saw him serving the carrots. He and I talked until someone behind us looked at him and said,
Sarah would like carrots please.

I made my way back to the table my aunt and I were sitting at when I realized that I had yet to ask the young man for his name, so my aunt decided to go and ask him his name because I was to scared to ask him for his name.
