Dedicated to people who have been bullied.

One day there was a boy named Ben. It was his first day of school, and he was excited. As Ben was getting ready for school, he was thrilled to see all of his friends from last year. He had a summer full of adventures and was excited to tell all his friends about it.

He put on his clothes which included a blue shirt, blue pants, and his brand new sketchers. He was happy to have his Superman backpack and Spiderman lunch box.
Once he got to school, he met up with his friends and could not sit still through all of class because he was so excited to play on the playground with his friends. The teacher realized how excited Ben was and ended math class a little bit early. Ben’s face lit up when he realized what the teacher was doing. “Time for recess!!” the teacher yelled. All of the kids ran to the door to line up to go outside.

Ben and his friends ran straight for the swings. As they were swinging, he noticed a tall girl in a striped turtle neck and white pants pushing other kids out of the way for the slide. “I really hope that I never have to interact with that girl,” he quietly said to himself. Soon the bell rang, and Ms. Downer called her class inside for science class. As Ben and his friends were lining up, he found out from his friend, Jake, that the girl’s name was Trixie.

The first person to select their partner was a girl named Suzy. Suzy then picked her friend Sally. Soon it was Jake’s turn to pick a partner. I smiled at him with hope he would pick me. Jake was super popular so many kids wanted to be his partner. He instead chose Isaac, another friend of his. My smile slowly faded and I wanted to go next. However, the next person to pick their partner was Lucy. Lucy was shy, so shy the teacher had to say her partner for her. She had chosen Caroline. Soon there were four of us left; Johnny, Jack, Trixie, and I.

At last, Mrs. Downer said, “Johnny please pick from the last three students.” “I pick Jack,” said Johnny. It had happened. Ben had got partnered up with Trixie. The mean girl from the playground. He did not know what he was going to do. He was scared and did not want to say one word around her. Mrs. Downer handed out the sheet that told the kids what to do and Ben went and sat next to Trixie. Before Ben could even sit down Trixie started talking to Ben.

“Uhhhh, uhh okay,” muttered Ben.
"You can do this project tonight okay? I will expect it to be done by tomorrow so that we can say that we worked on it together."
