Once upon a time...In place far far away, lived an evil king and
his two daughters, Isabella and Irene. When
the girls were young their mother, the queen,
went missing and no one in the kingdom
could find her. The girls grew up knowing their
mother was gone, but didn't understand why.

One day, Irene and Isabella were mad at the
king. This was because he never let them
leave the castle, even if they wanted to go on
a walk. Both the girls had been wanting to
leave the castle because they were tired of
their fathers rules and wanted to find their
long, lost, mother.

The girls grabbed a bag and put their peasant
clothes on, in fear that they would be noticed with
the dresses they had before. Isabella told Irene to
meet in the garden near the castle to discuss the
plan. "Okay," said Isabella. She was the oldest and
most mischievous of the two. "We are going to the
Mysterious Forest, and then to the village on the
outskirts of the kingdom." Then Irene asked with a
puzzled look, "Is that where the old witch lives?"
"Yes sister. Did you bring mothers locket like I told
you?" "Right here." Said Irene. The locket was gold
and had a heart inside with both girls names carved
in it."When we get to the village we must give this to
the witch. It will help us find mother."

After the long discussion the girls both
understood the plan and started on their way
to the village. When they reached the forest it
was about night fall. This was the worst time to
go. "Isabella, can we wait till morning to go
through the forest? I'm scared." Said Irene.
"No father has probably realized we are gone
by now. We have to keep going."

They walked through the deep dangerous
forest with only the moonlight to guide them.
Trees rattled, wolves howled, and creatures
saw them and watched their every move. All of
the sudden a strange noise echoed in the
night. They then saw a wise, old owl that
appeared on a branch near them. The owl
asked what they were doing in the forest at
night for there are ogres and dragons that
were near them. They told the owl about their
mother and how they were looking for her.
They mentioned the witch they wanted to find
also.

"No!" the owl interrupted. "The witch is evil
and will trick you. Trust me I've seen it happen
many times. Do not trust what she tells you, in
fact I say don't even go to her." The girls
agreed to not see the witch and the owl
brought them to the village. By this time the
sun had come up and the girls were
exhausted. "Sister please let us rest!" Irene
insisted. "No! Not till we find mother!" Isabella
was stern and Irene followed along.

Isabella asked around the village in hope that
someone knew where their mother was. No
one knew. "I'm tired of this!" shouted Irene.
"Fine! I'm going to the witch. Then this can all
be taken care of." Isabella was annoyed. "The
owl said not to see her." said Irene. "You
coming?" Isabella ignored her sister and what
she said about the wise owl.

The witches cottage was near the village but
mostly hidden by trees, and not in view for the
citizens to see. Isabella knew exactly where she
was going for her father was friends with the old
witch.
When they reached the place where the witch
lived, Irene started to get nervous and didn't
want to go in. "Come on Irene", Said Isabella,
"You know how badly we want to see mother."
Irene thought about her mother and how much
joy she brought to their family and decided to
listen to her sister. The thought of what the owl
had said was on her conscious.

They knocked on a old wooden door. The door
creaked and opened slowly. When the girls
looked inside they saw a dusty room with glass
scattered on the floors. "Where is she?" Asked
Isabella. "Come on, lets go inside." The girls
tiptoed in the room, when "BAM!" the door
slammed and the old witch appeared. "What
has brought you in today my darlings?" The
witch said in a deep, strange voice. "We've
come to find our mother!"

"Oh yes, I've actually been expecting you." Said the
Witch. "Please tell us where she is, I can even show
you something important that she owned." Said
Irene with a shaky voice. "Oh gifts you say, let me
see." Irene got the gold locket out of her coat and
showed the witch. The witch told the girls she could
make a deal with them under one condition. She
wanted to keep the locket. Isabella was quick to
agree because the excitement of seeing her mother
stood out from keeping an old locket. "I will make a
potion for you girls," Said the witch. "It will bring
you to your mother." "Anything that could bring us
to her." Said Isabella.
