*Around 1800 B.C. God chose Abraham to be the 

"Father" of the Hebrew people.

*Around 1650 B.C.   The Desendants of Abraham 

moved to Egypt.

*Between 1300 and 1200 B.C. Hebrews and Jews fled 

to Egypt. This event is now known as "The Exodus."

Within the religion of Judaism they had the Ten 

Commandments that Yahweh had written on a stone 

tablet.

The Jews and Hebrews believed in God and always 

obeyed the Ten Commandments.

Hebrews believed that the Commandments formed a 

new covenant between God and the Hebrew people.

As long as God protected the Hebrews, they promised 

to keep his commandments.

*Between 6 to 4 B.C. Jesus is born.

*A.D. 29 Jesus goes to Jerusalem.

*A.D. 66 Jews Rebel against Rome.

Christians used the Ten Commandments also as a 

religious writing.

The most common Christian belief was in God and 

Jesus.

*50 B.C. Hindu teachers try to interpret the hidden 

meaning of the Vedic hymns

*599 B.C. Mahivira is Born

*527 B.C. Mahivira's Death

One holy writing they had in Hinduism is the 

Upanishads, which were writen dialogues between 

a student and a teacher.

Some Hindu's believed in the worship of 3 gods.

Some even believed in Reincarnation (Rebirth)

* 563 B.C. Buddha's birth

In the Buddhism religion there was a leader called 

the Buddha.

A holy writing that was in this religion were "The 

Four Noble Truths" which was a written document of 

Elightenment written by the Buddha.
