It was a normal day. The temperature was 95 degrees with no wind. So we invited our neighbors over to play hide and seek. So me and my friend hid in a car. But we got bored because they had not found us in 30 minutes.

So we get out of the car and before I could say we give up, I saw them with a cat. Before, I was mad, but I was not mad when I saw a cat.

So I said, "Who's cat is this?'' They said, "We don't know." And my dad said, ''Go get him food.'' I said okay." And I ran as fast as I could and I got a hand full of food. When I got there he ate out of my hand. I said, "Can we keep him?'' My dad replied, ''No.'' So the neighbors went home and me and my brother went to bed.

But all I could think of is the cat. I finally fell asleep. Then I woke up and my dad said, ''The cat is still here!'' So me and my brother walked outside and saw him. I was so happy. Then something good happened. My dad said, ''You can keep him.'' I was so happy. I said, ''What are we going to name him?'' So we asked my mom. She looked on the internet for male cat names.

After 20 minutes we came up with Cheeto, because he looked like a Cheeto. I had a football game and I told everyone that I got a new cat. No one thought he was as cool as I thought he was.

One year later my dad could not find him. I was scared something happened to him, but I heard a meow and I looked under my dad's 68 GTO. I did not even see him. All that I saw was blood. I got up and cried so my dad looked. He saw blood and Cheeto.

My dad got a rake and pulled him out. He told me to go get a box to put him in there. While I was doing that, he texted my mom and said, "Cheeto got ran over." I came back with the box and we put him in the box and went to the vet.

We didn't even wait in the waiting room. We just walked through the back and said, "We have an emergency." They said, "Okay we will get the doctor as soon as possible." The doctor came and said, "He did not get ran over, he got shot." The doctor showed us the bullet hole.
