Last summer, my sister, a friend and I were in Sicily. It is a beautiful island in the Mediterranean Sea. It belongs to Italy.

We rented a car and we visited many different places and monuments: museums, churches, parks, beaches...

Towns were beautiful and quiet, and people were very friendly and helpful!
There were a lot of nice shops, cafés and restaurants everywhere!

Of course, food was excellent! We ate a lot of pasta, pizza and ice-cream, and we drank some red wine too. We also loved "cannoli", a typical Sicilian dessert.
Italian fashion is world-famous too. There were many nice boutiques and shops. We bought some shoes, a dress and a beautiful T-shirt, but they were too expensive...
My favourite city was Syracuse, a beautiful town next to the sea. It was a Greek colony, but there are Roman and Christian buildings too. In the picture, you can see the cathedral. There were many shops and restaurants in the street behind it.

We went for a walk from the Cathedral to the archaeological site. To get there, we went along Via Cavour and crossed a bridge; then, we turned right to Via Catania, and finally we went along Corso Gelone. There weren't many tourists between the cathedral and the park, so we walked easily.

After that, we drove to Agrigento. It was a small town opposite to Syracuse. The famous volcano Etna was between these two cities. We stopped there and took some pictures. You can see the volcano behind the village and a white cloud over it. The Etna is an active volcano, but fortunately, there wasn't an eruption at that moment!

Finally, we arrived at Agrigento, a small, colourful town. We visited the Valley of the Temples: there were some amazing ancient Greek temples and buildings! We had to wear proper boots because the hills were steep and sandy.

Next, we visited the Scala dei Turchi: it was an enormous white rock next to the beach. It looked like stairs. The legend says that Arab pirates docked their ships here. The sea was transparent and warm. You must bring your swimsuits and flip-flops!

We recommend you to visit Sicily. It was an unbelievable experience and we had a great time together. Good food, nice people, great landscapes and monuments... It is an amazing destination!

Now it's up to you!
