Overview
General English (Beginner to Upper Intermediate course is suitable for students with no knowledge of the English language. This course will prepare students to learn to use English effectively in an everyday environment as well as for further studies. It is carefully designed to cover the macro-skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing as well as grammar and pronunciation practice. Students will progress through this course in a supported and enjoyable online environment. The emphasis of most of our lessons at this level is giving students the opportunity to practice what is taught through the use of practice-based learning activities, which are based on weekly themes and topics. These provide a framework around which vocabulary building and the development of the macro skills are practiced which makes it both interesting and productive for students.

All sciences, from Physics to Chemistry, from Biology to Information Technology, use the formal language encrypted within the Mathematical code to enhance and quantify their meaning. Formal languages, indeed, are artifices and abstractions, or conventions, no more than natural languages, scientists use to emphasize and convey their sense. This course aims at pointing out the basic English word order and sentence structure and the levels at which the English language is interwoven with the mathematical code in order to enable students to build up and cognitively re-produce an essentially coherent and cohesive English text mainly in the context of scientific discourses.

These notes, far from being exhaustive, point out at providing undergraduate university students of sciences with a guideline emphasizing the main steps in building up simple and coherent scientific texts/discourses in English. Some graphs and texts are used as examples and adapted from specified Internet materials in order to allow the students to better interact with the vast material present on the Internet. Anyway, if any sources might result incomplete or neglected do not hesitate to contact us in order to further specify the source. Prerequisites Levels B1, B12 or higher. Objectives: This course provides students with the opportunity to master the language skills for working and living in English-speaking countries and for advancing studies in higher education. Students get the opportunity to learn English via EDMODO platform, with a reputation for practical activities, applied learning, and outstanding results.

Approach:
Each level is based on different daily topics, designed to illustrate different styles of the English language. All levels follow the same broad outline. Student tasks, course materials, activities, and timing will differ according to the group level. The emphasis in all level is on the communication skills; speaking, listening, reading and writing. Each course also provides useful preparation for those students intending to undertake further studies. Although the class teacher has responsibility for course delivery, course content is flexible and will permit some student input. For example, if there is sufficient interest, the courses might include more than one day on a particular topic or topics outside those listed
