Dedication

We would like to say a big thanks to Mrs. Chafin and Doc for giving us the opportunity to be apart of the STEAM group and allowing us to learn about Areospace Engineering. This year has been a great learning experience and we can't wait for next year!!

wind tunnel- room or passage through which air can be made to flow at controlled speeds.

Clash(a white wind tunnel). The kids are back, time for a new year

Flash(a red wind tunnel).I wonder which one of us they will choose to use because I know I am the best

Clash. Yeah yeah, whatever you say.....

thrust- the force that propels a flying machine in the direction of motion. 

drag- the force that acts opposite to the direction of motion.

airfoil-the cross-sectional shape of a wing, blade, or sail.  

Kaylee. I think we should use the white wind tunnel and we can call it Clash.

Summer. Sounds good. What can we name the other one?

Emma. I think we should name it Flash!!

Summer. Hey Doc, what do we use wind tunnels for?

Doc. Well, you measure the thrust and drag of an airfoil when it is in the wind tunnel.

asymmetrical- having parts which fail to correspond to one another in shape, size, or arrangement; lacking symmetry.

newtons- the SI unit of force. It is equal to the force that would give a mass of one kilogram an acceleration of one meter per second per second.

Kaylee. Okay lets get started! First we need to measure the forces of the blue asymmetrical airfoil.

Emma.The drag on this airfoil is 0.06 newtons

Summer. The thrust is 0.04 newtons

*bell rings

Flash. I can't believe they chose you over me.

Clash. I guess I'm the best.

Flash. I'll show them that choosing you was a big mistake.

Clash. Yea yea, and how do you plan to do that?

Flash. I'm going to show them that my fan is better than yours.

Clash. Challenge accepted!

Flash. The kids are gone, now is our chance to prove who is the best.

Clash. Okay you go first.

*Flash turns on his fan and makes a mess in the lab*

Clash. You made a mess, the kids are going to be so mad at us.

Flash. Oh no! This is not good.

Clash. The kids are coming back in 5 minutes, we don't have enough time to clean up

*Bell rings and kids enter the classroom*
