There once was a eggplant named Doodle. Doodle was
a very lonely eggplant. None of the fruits accepted
him! They always teased Doodle relentlessly. So when
he couldn't stand it anymore he left. It was
uncomfortably hot outside the refrigerator, but it
was better than inside with the teasing.
He could often hear them talking about him and
giggling. Whenever a new food came, they told him
bad things so they would stay away from Doodle. It
had worked. All Doodle wished for was a friend.

One morning, Doodle woke up to find someone
else on the kitchen table. It was a strawberry!
Doodle thought he might be a good friend! So
he greeted the little strawberry.
"Hello, I'm Doodle, what's your name?"
The strawberry looked scared.
"What's wrong?Are you are right?"
"Do you really hurt strawberries?"
"No! Why would I do that?
"The fruits said you did."

"No!"
"Yes."
"Don't listen to them! They lie!"
"How would you know? You live out here."
"I moved out here to get away from them."
"I don't believe you. Goodbye."
Doodle started to cry. The strawberry turned
back, and stuck out his tongue.

Doodle was so mad he decided to dress in a disguise, and
act like a new fruit. He would go to the refrigerator and
find out what they said about him. Then he would get
them back somehow.
Doodle yanked a sombrero over his stem, grabbed a pair
of shades, stuck on a fake moustache, and put on a green
suit. He also packed some candy from his stash and
stored it in a bag. Doodle took a deep breath and let it
out. He was ready for his adventure.

Doodle started the long trek to the
refrigerator. It was dangerous but
nothing would stop him. Nothing at
all. Doodle was determined. He
passed many sharp knives and too
many people.

AHHHHH!!!!

Is eggplant good for tummy?
Ohhh! Birdie!!
Whew!
Cupcake?
Doodle soon became too exhausted from the
dangers of the kitchen. He never knew what would
lay ahead. He had lost all his energy, and he had
barely started. When he looked back, he could see
his house very clearly. But he knew he could not even
make it back. Doodle had just flopped down in
defeat, when he heard a fluttering sound. What was
it? He was so curious he raised his head to look.
What he saw made him jump up in surprise.

A Fairy! Doodle stared in surprise. A real
fairy! He had heard stories, but had never seen a
real one!
"H-hello." Doodle managed.
"Hello, Doodle. I have been sent to help you on your
quest. Pure fairy dust will give you the strength to
carry on. Follow the signs that say, 'Ye Olde Fairy
Dust Store.' May the fairies grant you good luck
along the way."

Doodle faithfully followed the signs which led a great
deal away from where he was. But somehow he didn't
get tired. Sometime later he arrived at a cozy looking
cottage on the side of the sink, where rain was pouring
dreadfully down. Luckily the fairies kept the rain in one
place, and not where Doodle had to travel. Spotting a
house, Doodle knocked quietly on the huge door. No one
answered so he knocked louder. A bellowing neigh
sounded from inside. Doodle took that as a 'come in'
and let himself in.
