The night started out like any other night. My mom told me to take a bath, so I did. I was excited because it was a bubble bath in her big bathtub! After a long soak in the bubbles, my mom told me bath time was over, but I really didn't want to come out, and I stayed in for a very long time. My mom said, "Mackenzie, if you don't get out of the tub, you will turn into a salmon." "What's a salmon?" I asked. "It's a type of fish,"my mom said. "And if you don't get out of the tub, you will turn into one and go down the drain."

"Eeww I don't want to turn into a salmon. That's very yucky," I said. So I came out of the bath-finally and I said to my mom, "tomorrow, can I take another big bubble bath in your tub?" my mom said, "Of course, but don't stay in too long because if you turned into a salmon, I would cry all my tears out!

Chapter 2

The next night I took a big bath in my mom's tub again. After, I washed my hair and put soap on my body, mom told me bath time was over again. However, I still didn't want to get out of the tub, and then she reminded me, "Remember, you'll turn into a salmon if you don't get out." But this time, I-did-not-listen...

Part of me did not believe my mom. I mean who ever heard of a person turning into a fish? But I was willing to find out!!

My mom finally stopped asking me to get out of the tub and went and read her book--that is when it happened!

I started feeling strange.

Chapter 3

My skin started to feel scaly. My back bones started to twitch. My nose started feeling odd and I think I was getting gills!! My legs were crawling into my body. My head was crawling into my neck. I felt like my hair was starting to come out and I felt like I was getting smaller, and my teeth...I don't know what was happening to them but they definitely felt something.

Chapter 4

The next thing I knew, I wasn't me anymore--I was a SALMON!!  I was flopping around in the bath water, swimming back and forth! This was crazy! My mom came in and said, "Z where are you?" She screamed this over and over again and I could tell she was worried.  I couldn't talk to her to tell her where I  was.  The only thing I could do was leap out of the water, so she would notice I was still here.  Would she even know that it was me?  Then, she left the bathroom and looked for me everywhere, I could hear her yelling for me, even in the attic!

After what seemed like forever, she came back to the bathroom and finally looked in the bathtub.  I think that's when she realized her baby girl actually turned into a salmon!!

Chapter 5

My mom looked down at me and I tried to be still and look at her.  My mom asked, "ZZ is that you?" Thank goodness! I thought she must know it's me.  I jumped out of the water to signal her and she almost went to hug me.  That's when she said, "Don't worry ZZ, I will turn you back into a little girl." My mom finally opened the tub's drain and watched the water leave, but she quickly closed the drain, so I wouldn't go down the drain with the water.
