It was the middle of the night two weeks after school had ended. I had been sitting up in my room doing my homework. I got a little hungry so I went down stairs to grab a bowl of Captain Crunch. After I was done I started wondering back upstairs. I got to my room and noticed it was a little drafty. I hadn't left my window open... Had I?
I cracked open the door and saw a figure in all black sitting on my bed. The person was sitting faced towards my window (which was wide open .) I snuck my hand just past the door frame and grabbed the plastic bat leaning against my wall. I flung my door open and charged at the figure. I swung the bat as hard as I could.
As soon as the bat hit the figures head They fell back. I gasped, it was my best friend Anna. I rushed to her side and said to her "OMG, Anna are you OK?" She said back to me "What the heck you fart chicken, why did you hit me? You got my text right? I told you I was coming. Yes, I will be fine, but it will be a nasty bruise."
"Oh, I am so sorry. My mom took my phone," I said to her trying to explain my self. "You should be sorry," she said one last time while catching her breath. I walk to my closet and pulled out my spare blow-up mattress. Then I grabbed a sheet out of the hallway closet and put it on the mattress.
After Anna stopped ranting we finally fell asleep. When we woke up she asked "Hey, I was wondering If I could stay with you this summer because My parents are going backpacking across Venezuela." Of course I said yes, It would be so fun! I ran down stairs and told my parents about the big plans.
We started by going to get her stuff from her house but, It was already locked. So, I said she could use my stuff and clothes. Later on my other best friend Cacee called me and asked to come over. I said yes and when she got there she asked "Why is Anna here?" I explained and she said back " Well, I want to live here too." I asked my parents if that was ok and they said sure.
We just relaxed for about the first three days. I got bored and made this whole speech about how we have to do something with our lives and Blah Blah Blah. Cacee simply responded with "Let's build a tree house." I loved that idea so much.
We started planning and making sketches of what it should look like. After a while we presented the idea to my parents and they said sure as long as they didn't have to pay for anything. We went back up to my room and talked a long time about how we were going to get the supplies without buying anything.
