First Day Of High School
It was the first day of Highschool for Sam. He was at the front gates when Eddie arrived. They both walked into school together to see Max and Jacob playing handball. They ran down to the game and jumped into the squares ready for a fun game of handball. “Geez, Sam you have grown a lot,” said Jacob. Sam thought to himself why he would have grown so much over those holidays compared to the others and why haven't the others grown so much just like him. He thought to himself for a little bit. Maybe it's that thing we have been learning in class called puberty. He wondered why only he was getting taller and why the others weren't. “Hey Sam lets play some hardcore handball now,” said Max. Sam agreed and wandered over to the handball square.

Sam was really hard to beat. He was playing as if he was the world champion. Sam only got out once. Eddie went up to give Sam a handshake. What is that horrible smell” said Eddie. Sam was wondering why he was so tall and why he smelt. Max also smelt as well. Sam and Max were curious but they still went to class. “Had this happened to anyone else.” Sam wondered. It was like they were the only two. Sam thought why had it not happened last year and it's happening now. Sam was wondering what the others were going to think of him. Sam's first lesson was English. Sam loved English but he didn't seem to want to have it today.

Sam went into class with Max, Eddie and Jacob. It had smelt so much worse than last year. “Maybe the others are having it happened to them too.” thought Sam. But not everyone was smelling and as tall as me. Sam was getting stuck in his English work. Mrs watermelon was coming around and asked Sam if he needed any help. Mrs Watermelon asked Sam if he needed any help but Sam quickly said no. “ I'm fine Ms,” said Sam. He wanted to try and do it on his own. This was a new experience for him. Sam had never said no to a teacher's help before. Sam doesn't know who he is anymore. He just wanted it to be home time.

Soon enough it was home time. Sam had never been so excited for a home time before. He jumped in the car with his mum. He told his mum everything that had been happening. He asked his mum if this had ever happened to her or if she knows anyone it has happened to. “It happens to everyone but we all go through it at different times. Its when your body catches up to your brain. Its where you change from childhood to adulthood.” said Sams mum. “Does that mean I am an adult now?” said Sam with the biggest smile he could find. “No,” said Sams mum with a smile. “It's a difficult time for many but for some its a fun time. You have loads of new experiences” replied back Sams mum. Sam was now not as worried as he was at school today. He texted Max to tell him that they were going through puberty and Sam told Max everything his mum told. Sam invited Max over to his house. Max arrived at his house and they went out and rode bikes. Sam really loved riding and hanging out with Max. It made him not worry about what's going on at school and gives him someone to talk to.

Sam came back home from riding with Max. He really enjoyed his time. He told his mum and dad at dinner about his time and how he was way more relaxed. His dad also added that if he doesn’t feel like telling anyone he can see the kids helpline. Sam was feeling a lot more comfortable. He was still a little bit worried about high school and how he was going to fit in. His mum said that he needed to get some sleep otherwise he wouldn’t be able to do his best. So he got to bed ready for his big adventure tomorrow and he was sure he was ready for the second day.

He arrived at the gate ready to make some new friends and share lots of memories. He saw some of his old friends that were from his old school but most of them weren’t. They had gone to different schools and especially his best friend Jake. Luckily his parents had trusted him with a phone so now he can stay in touch with him. He loved having all of these new responsibilities but it also meant that he was not allowed to the stuff that he use to do. He thought about that but he was able to do much more when he moved to high school. He met some great new friends that were going through the same thing as he was.
