Two very long weeks ago, something huge
happened. It all started in a tiny village in the
middle of the forest. There was a man who
had 2 daughters that also happened to be
twins. One was named Rapunzel and the
other one named Sapphire. They were very
similar in appearance, in fact people often
confused them, but there was no mistake
they were two completely different people.
Rapunzel was a sweet, kind, honest girl; on
the other hand her sister Sapphire was rude,
rebellious and greedy.

Sapphire often came home after her curfew
and her father would lecture her. He would say
“why can’t you be more like your sister? Girls
do you know what makes you two more special
than any other children in the village? It is the
fact that you two are my daughters, and with
that you gain the title of being princesses,
which is every girls dream."There was
something else special about these two girls
that they never knew about themselves.
However it was something they were going to
experience very soon.

As these two girls continued to grow up, their
personalities seemed to stay the same. Rapunzel
continued to be virtuous and constantly helping
others, while Sapphire grew more mischievous by
the minute. Next door an old witch had just moved
in. She was not evil but however she often just
kept to herself. Rapunzel often played with the
witch’s dog and gave the dog a treat every time
she passed it. The old witch often watched her in
suspicion that she might do something to harm the
dog. The dog meant a lot to the old witch as it was
her only company.

One day Sapphire felt tired of her daily party life,
and her old pranks. Then she got an idea, Sapphire
thought of how much fun it would be to pretend to
be Rapunzel for a day. She thought how hard could
it be, “all I have to do is act like a good princess
should”. As she was walking past the witch’s house
she noticed the witch’s dog. Sapphire remembered
that everyday Rapunzel would play with the dog
and give it a treat. She thought how funny it would
be to untie the dog, letting it run free and Rapunzel
would get in trouble for once.

The witch saw this and was outraged. “I knew that
girl was up to no good. I will make them pay for
making me lose my one and only companion." She
invited Rapunzel over and had confronted her,
Rapunzel had never gone to the witch’s house, so
as a precaution her father had told Sapphire to go
along with her. Rapunzel pleaded to be innocent of
such doings but the witch was vengeful. She
planted a curse on Rapunzel. “For every deed you
perform, you shall pay a price. Since you’re so
beautiful and fair, for everything you do; it will
take a toll on your hair!”
