Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) - Trevor Stevens
A few things you should know before reading this book is that this book is intended for kids around 5 to 10 years old. I chose to write about Irritable Bowel Syndrome because it is a common but somewhat taboo disorder that I think more people should be compassionate towards. You should also know that I'm writing this for my summer health class, and that I didn't have that much time to write this. If the book seems rushed that's the reason why. I hope the book is educational, and if you're suffering from this disorder that it encourages you to get help or make a change if you haven't already.

Vanessa lived a fantastic life in the town of Greenville with her dog Rufus. They had lots of awesome adventures together.

However, Vanessa often found herself in the bathroom more often than she found herself adventuring with Rufus. She was having terrible abdominal pains and found things in her stool that were very abnormal such as mucus! Yuck!

You must go see a doctor right away!
This started to upset Vanessa, so she talked to her Mom about her recent toilet dilemma. Her Mom was very concerned and insisted that Vanessa see a doctor the next day!

Vanessa described her symptoms to her doctor, and he had her blood tested. It showed that Vanessa had a disorder called "Irritable Bowel Syndrome".

The doctor explained to Vanessa that this disorder was not her fault or her Mom's fault. The only thing that they can do is manage her symptoms
The doctor also told Vanessa that this chronic condition affects the way her large intestine and digestive/excretory system work, and her symptoms of diarrhea were normal for the disease.
