Light came from everywhere. The stones on the walls were gleaming and
everybody looked happy, but they weren’t. They are so annoying to me, ugh
and my dad is worse.
“Claire come here please,” said my dad. What does he want! I turned
around and face him.
“I’m listening,” I responded.
“Can you please escort this young lady to her room,” he stated. The
women wore a beautiful dress with shoes that couldn’t be more polished
her face had not one wrinkle. She had a crown on her head. Wait is he
going to marry her? He can’t he won’t not because mother died.

“No, never! You are not going to marry her!” I hollered. Who does he think
he is! I started running down the hall passing everyone not knowing were I
was going. I founded myself in the entrance of the castle. Tears ran through
my cheeks. I went out of the castle.
“Claire come back!” my dad shouted desperately. My dad was a dork, a
bad king, and a person that always bossed me around. It’s not fair my I have
him as a dad. It’s not fair that I don’t have a mother. I wouldn’t stop
running. They were coming for me. The solders.

WHACK. I fell on the floor. My back hurt and my feat ached for so much
running. Then I looked up. There was a beautiful face with blue eyes and
chocolate brown hair. He held his hand to me I took it. It was warm and
rough. I stood up I looked at myself. My dress was dirty, and my hair was all
tangled. I had lost one shoe when I was running. I look like a pig! I’m going to
need new shoes and clothes! I needed help immediately.
“Sorry I didn’t see you,” the man said. All of a sudden I was scared
because I was alone in the dark with a man that I didn’t even know. I wanted
to go home.
“Hello, can you direct me to the castle,” I said in return. I took a good
look of him, he was a peasant!
“Ah yes just go straight and take the first right,” he told me looking at
me with a surprised face. I just nodded in response and went home.

“Tomorrow is your dad’s birthday. What do you want to give him for a
gift?” Charlotte my servant said.
“Make some fine jewelry and a new crown. He will love it!” I told
Charlotte. She just nodded in response.
The day of the birthday I went to his bedroom. The women he was with
the other day join me their.

“Daddy wake up,” I whispered. “Wake up.” The king open one eye then the
other and stand up.
“Good morning darling. What are you doing here?” he murmured.
“It’s your birthday!” I answered. “Here take your present.” I shoved the
present in his hands and he gently opened it.
His face went from a smile to a frown. “Oh, it’s a great gift thank you,”
he said. Does he like it? I don’t understand. “Now can I see your gift,” he
replied to the women I had seen the other day.
“Yes of course. Happy birthday,” she responded with a great smile on her
face. She gave dad the present and when he opened his smile came back. It
was a painting made by her.
