My friend Andy has a problem with his Respiratory System.

His airways sometimes become inflamed and it becomes hard for him to breathe.

Andy has Asthma.

Asthma is when Andy's airways narrow and swell, making it very difficult to breathe.

Asthma affects the Respiratory System.

Some symptoms are coughing, difficulty breathing, and chest pressure.

Andy treats his Asthma by keeping a rescue inhaler by his side in case of an emergency when he's outside with us.

If Andy didn't treat his Asthma, the inflammation would get much worse and he could lose lung function.

This is Scary. If Andy loses lung function, he wouldn't be able to play with us.

Losing lung function could mean death for Andy, that's the scariest part about it.

Andy's quality of life has changed ever since he'd been diagnosed.

He can still have fun riding his scooter with us.

But there is still a chance of him getting an Asthma Attack.
