This is part 1 of my narrative homework assignment.

Chapter 1 The Makeover
The bells of a castle started ringing as a group of children started running out of the castle and into the outside ballroom to play with dolls or fight with wooden toy swords. One child in the group sat down and read her book. The girl was named Marie and she was the princess of a castle that she loves very much. She also loves her parents to.
She has a brother named Edward who was the prince and a greedy, mean, sister named Stella who hated Marie. The reason why Stella hates Marie is
because she really wanted to be the princess but
Marie got chosen. From that day on, Stella hates Marie.
As Marie still read her book, Stella came up to her and kicked her book out of her hand.
“Hey! I was still reading that, Stella!” Marie yelled as she stood up and took her book from the ground as she ran into the castle and slammed the castle doors behind her.
Stella was jumping up and down with happiness as she started to bully the other kids.
* * *
"That was easy! I don't have to even have to kick their toys out of their hands!” bragged Stella as she pointed to the kids outside as she watched from her
bedroom window.
Just when she was about to play with her dolls, the maid came into her room.
“Can’t you see I’m busy?!” yelled Stella to the maid.
“But, you have to get ready”
“For what?”
“The ball”
“Again?” Stella said with a half-sad, half-mad look on her face as she looked up at the ceiling.
“Yes. Get ready. You have to meet me in the bathroom for the makeover.”
“I don’t go to those silly balls!” Stella yelled as she stood up.
Chop, chop! You don’t have a second to lose” the maid
said as she clapped her hands and headed toward the bathroom.
“Uhhhhhh!” yelled Stella as she walked to the bathroom slouching.
When they got to the bathroom, Stella stood on the stool and looked in the mirror.
“Now, a pinch of this” said the maid as she started putting blush on Stella.
“Ewww!” yelled Stella as she tried to wipe off the blush as the maid got out the nail polish.
“With a pinch of this” said the maid as she started putting the nail polish on Stella’s nails.
“What are you putting on my nails!?” screeched Stella as she stuck her tongue out and closed her eyes with
disgusted.
“And finally, this” said the maid as she started putting lipstick on Stella’s lips.
“EEEEEK!” panicked Stella as she started running around the bathroom in terror.
“Next, we need to get you dressed for the party” the maid said as she went to the closet to get the dress.
“How about this?” The maid showed Stella a red dress.
“Ewwww! That looks very gross!” yelled Stella as she looked at the dress in discussed.
“How about this?” said the maid as she got a green dress.
“Even worst!” yelled Stella as she pushed the dress
out of the way.
Then how about this?” the maid said as
she took out a blue dress and wished that Stella would chose it.
“I love it!” Stella said as she took the dress out of the maids hand and pretend to wear it.
“Alright then, put it on and head to the indoor ballroom” the maid said as she started walking back.
“I hate my life as a step-princess”
Chapter 2 The Ball
Stella looked out her bedroom window and saw many people walk into the castle. Stella thought about everyone coming to reunite her as their noble princess. Stella ran out of her room on her way to the ball. On her way, she ran into Edward who was grooming the cat.
“Oh, hi Stella” he said as he stopped grooming and looked at Stella.
“Oh, hello handsome”
“Are you OK?”
“I am now”
“Aren’t you supposed to be getting to the ball?” Edward
wanted to change the subject.
“With you?” Stella said this as she was going on a date with him.
“I’m going with Marie”
“COME ON!!” Stella yelled to Edward as she stomped her way to the ballroom.
Then she ran into the queen (her mother) who was dusting the pottery and china.
“Oh, I didn’t see you there Stella” she laughed out.
“Do I have to go to the ball?” Stella said slouching.
“Yes, we already had this talk, you’re going to the ball.”
“Why do I have to?”
“Put this up with your father this instants!”
Stella started walking down the hall to the next room that the king (her father) was in
“Well, what now Stella?” he asked her.
“I don’t want to go to the ball”
“But your going and it’s about to start” he said as he grabbed Stella’s hand and started walking to the ballroom.
Stella was trying to let her feet stick to the ground to get away but her father was very strong.
Soon they were in the ballroom and Stella saw weird looking people. She saw this man with a mustache and it spoke French and it always said to her, “Eh bien si ce n'est pas la belle-princesse, hein?(Well if it isn’t our step-princess, eh?)”, there was a lot of Spanish women
that were waving fans at them and were dancing like the cha-cha, there were British soldiers that were guarding the ballroom and they were nice to Stella, and there was another king and queen that were letting Stella sit in for a little. She felt like she was the queen of the castle and thought that she was using Marie for her servant. Then, Stella heard a bell ringing and saw Marie standing on top of a table that was full of fruits.
“Gather round, gather round!” she started yelling to everyone in the ballroom. “I like to say a few words to my father and mother, Edward, and Stella. They have been great to me in many ways. Like my father, he has been the way I wanted him to be, kind, loyal, and
friendly. My mother has made the community strong and noble to everyone. My sister Stella...I’m glad she’s my sister. And finally, Edward, he has been nice to me that in my heart, so much, that” She kissed Edward on the lips. Stella fainted.
When the cake was being cut, Stella went to her room and took precious things with her. She was escaping. She had to much to handle. First, she needed to know how to get past the castle guards. She thought hard, and hard, and hard. Then she got it. Next, she needed to know how to open the castle gate without anyone seeing her from a window. She thought harder, and harder, and harder. Then she got it. Last, she needed to know where to camp for the night. She thought hardest,
and hardest, and hardest. Then she got it! She got everything she needed.
First, Stella headed to the guard room. Stella said to the guard, “Guard, there’s an intruder on the south end of the castle.”
“OK” said the guard. “I’ll take him or her out. Thanks for letting me know” With no second to lose, the guard headed out the guard room and headed toward the south end of the castle.“Check” Stella said as she got out a paper and quill and wrote a check mark next to the word “Distract Guard”
Next, Stella headed toward every room and covered it up with black ink from her quill. She didn’t do her father’s room because he was sleeping. “Check” Stella
said as she wrote a check mark next to the word “Cover Windows With Ink”
Last, Stella ran to the gates as they were locked. Stella found a lever and decided to pull on it. Then, the gates opened and Stella ran out of the castle with her precious things. Stella looked back with a tear in her eye. She missed the castle but she had to do what she had to do.
Chapter 3 Meeting Someone
Stella woke up in a field full of weeds and flowers. She saw the castle right behind her and she knew that she needed to go farther for no one can find her. She ate her breakfast and drank her water so she was hydrated enough to move forward. She saw a village that was about 20 miles away from her and she knew that she could spend another night there. Stella could feel the wind in her hair but it wasn’t the wind blowing. She turned around and saw a dog come to her. “Oh no, they found me!” she thought in her mind as she started running away. She never ran so fast in
her life. Just then, she ran into someone old.
“Oh, hello young girl” the old lady said to her as she turned around.
“Who are you?” Stella replied back to the old lady.
“Well, my name is Glinda the witch”
“Please don’t hurt me”
“I won’t hurt you. All I do is grant peoples wishes”
Then Stella had an awesome idea. “I have a wish you could grant for me!” she said to Glinda.
“What is it then?”
“I want to be princess!”
“Of that castle over there?”
“Yeah. And who's the dog?”
“That’s Ella, my dog”
“Can you take me to him?”
“Of course I can!” Glinda started walking away from the castle and village. “Your castle is north and the village is south east so the cave is west”
“Wait, your husband lives in a cave?
“Well, it’s also a bunker to keep away evil spirits”
“COOL!”
“Ella, here girl! *Whistle*” Ella started running toward her and followed her as she started headed west.
Stella thought the dog’s name was cool because it sounded like her name.
They started heading west but it was already getting dark so they decided to camp out. Glinda got out all

I had lots of fun making this book. In fourth grade, my English teacher told me and my classmates that we had to make a narrative story for an assignment. It took me THREE WEEKS to make ONLY part 1 of the story. Part 2 is now what I'm working on with a couple more stories in hand. So I hope(d) you enjoy(ed) this-Ian Smyrnos
