By pupils from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania

Once upon a time, in one beautiful and green country called Latvia, there lived a small seagull. His name was Oliver.

Oliver lived by the river Daugava. He was very lonely and had no friends.

He heard that somewhere far away there was the big blue Baltic Sea.

There lived a lot of seagulls and he could find new friends!

But how to get there? He was so little and the sea was so far away? Every night he dreamed about the sea.

First, he built a rocket and tried to fly there. But the rocket went out of petrol.

The pupils from J.Pilsudski Daugavpils state Polish Gymnasium Class 1 C helped him to built a small boat. They drew beautiful pictures and created interesting tasks about the sea.

Pupils found a lot of interesting facts about the Baltic Sea and animals. They also learnt that the sea is polluted with plastic.

"So sad! We all should do something to protect our sea!"

"Set sail!" Oliver said and headed to Lithuania.

Oliver the seagull arrived in a very green and nice small city in the north part of Lithuania – Kursenai. He left his boat near the river Venta which is the third longest river in Lithuania.

Oliver looked around and saw a very nice Old Park in front of him. In the park, he met his new friends. Children were so happy to meet the guest and invited him to their school.

Oliver together with schoolchildren spent so much time together, navigated on the map, and completed many exercises with new friends.

Oliver also told a story to his new friends and explained why he arrived here to visit his friends. He told about his home – The Baltic Sea.

Oliver said that he was feeling safe when the environment is safe and clean. 

Oliver reminded to all of his friends how to recycle, how to reduce the amount of plastic, how to clean up the environment. These things we can do all together all over the world!

“Goodbye, my Lithuanian friends! I am travelling further on my boat to Estonia to visit my friends there.”
