In the beginning nothing existed, only darkness was everywhere. Suddenly from the darkness emerged a thin disc, one side yellow and the other side white, appearing suspended in midair. Within the disc sat a small bearded man, Creator, the one who lives above.


When he looked into the endless darkness, light appeared above. He looked down and it became a sea of light. To the east, he created yellow streaks of dawn. To the west, tints of many colors appeared everywhere. There were also clouds of different colors. He also created three other gods: a little girl, a sun-god and a small boy.

The natives thought that the world was created by that bearded man that sat on a thin yellow and white disk. He saw a light then the light turned into the sea of light. Then he created the 3 other gods

The natives believed that not one person should be able to own land. Houses were common property and served many families. The idea of one person owning land was not a thing in the natives society.
"In the villages of the Iroquois, land was shared in common and worked in common. No one person could “own” land. Hunting was done together, and the catch was divided among the members of the village".

Women were more important and respected in the Iroquis society. The family line went down through the female members and husband joined the family instead. The women also had a lot more power in the society. The were able to attend clan meetings and stood behind the men and were able to remove the men they were too far from their wishes.

That is, the family line went down through the female members, whose husbands joined the family, while sons who married then joined their wives' families. Each extended family lived in a "long house." When a woman wanted a divorce, she set her husband's things outside the door.

Natives were underestimated and they were better than Europeans and could survive better because they were natural with food and supplies. They only had hand held weapons so that is how they are better than Europeans.
