It was September, and it was the first day back at school. Layth was jumping with excitement, to see his friends, but also because he couldn't wait to play tag at recess.

They had math, english, and gym before lunch. It was 12pm, and all the kids ran outside, and began their game of tag.

As they were playing tag in the woods, the bell rang. Layth realized he was still really far from the school.

Uh, oh! What do I do? I can't find my way back to the school...

Layth was far out in the woods, he was scared.He loved going on adventures, but didn't like to be alone. He tried yelling for help, but nobody was around.

HELP! HELP!

Layth continued to walk towards where he thought the school was but on the way he heard a meow as if it were a cat. Layth loved cats, he always thought of them as his secret side kick.

It is a Cat!! I'm gonna name you Freddie!

Together we will get out of here.

MEOW,MEOW.

Layth, and Freddie kept adventuring on to try and find their way back to the school. He felt less scared with his side kick beside him. The cat sniffed along the path helping him find his way back, but then the cat ended up running away.

Layth caught up to him, and just realized he was trying to get help.

They ended up at a lady's house. They stopped and knocked on the door. She opened it slowly with a smile on her face and said "Hello can I help you?" Layth said " Hi my name is Layth and this is my sidekick cat that found your house, we are lost, and can't find our school."

The lady was happy to take us where ever we needed to go. She said it would probably be best to take us home because school was over by now. " I will happily take you home, I am going into town anyways". Layth was nervous at first but didn't have another choice.
