This story is dedicated to the memory of Harambe. Your life was sadly cut short, but your memory lives on.

June was always hot in Gorilla Town, and today was no different. Harambe the Depressed Gorilla peered outside and saw the hot summer sun beaming in the sky. He heaved a heavy sigh and put on his detective hat and spying glass and headed outside. He had a case to solve, though he wasn’t very happy about the prospect of solving it today, he decided he would work on it because it wasn’t like there was anything better that he had to do.
The case he was working on was of high importance to the Gorilla town police. Someone had drained the town’s watering hole and there was no where for any of the town’s folk to cool off. What made matters worse was that a huge heat wave was expected to hit the area in a few days and if the town had no water things could be disastrous.

Harambe slowly searched the town for clues. He asked everyone if they had seen anyone near the town’s water supply. No one had seen anything. A sense of hopelessness began to come over him. Harambe decided to mope over to the next town, Leopard Town. Maybe they could offer any help since he was unable to find any leads. When Harambe walked into town he was shocked by what he saw. The leopards had built a huge water park with tall water slides that went higher than the trees. There was water everywhere! Harambe was puzzled by the water park in Leopard town. “Don’t cats hate water?” he thought. He walked up to one of the leopards who seemed like he was in charge. “Where did you get all of this water?” he asked.

“Well,” the leopard said as he licked his paw and stroked his own fur, “we found this huge watering hole not far from here and decided to put the water to good use. We came up with the idea of the water park because the hyenas in Hyena Town said that one couldn’t be built, and even if we could build one, no one would ever use it because cats can’t swim. Well we showed them!” The leopard laughed and twitched his tail.
