How the Frog Became the King of the Ocean

Once upon a time,
there was a great elephant
King who ruled over all the animals on land and sea.
After ruling the kingdom
for 100 years, he began to feel tired.

He wanted to find a good helper to rule with him. The King decided that he would be the King of the land, and his helper would be the King of the oceans.

He sent out his favorite messenger
to present him with the best animals.

After a few weeks of searching, the messenger had returned with six choices for the King: a smart cat, a playful monkey, a friendly crab, a hardworking flamingo, a big fish, and a little frog.
After a few weeks of searching, the messenger had returned with six choices for the King: a smart cat, a playful monkey, a friendly crab, a hardworking flamingo, a big fish, and a little frog.

First, the King dismissed the cat
and said: “Cat, if you are afraid
of the rain, how can you
rule the waters?”

Next, he rejected the monkey and claimed: “Monkey, although you have a great personality, I am afraid that you will forget your kingly duties and instead play.”

Later, he denied the flamingo and said: “Flamingo, even though you are very watchful,
I fear that your voice
is not loud enough
to be heard
by all the animals.”

After that, he turned down the crab and said:
“Crab, thank you for coming, but I cannot accept you as a King because you do not even have a head! Where would I put your crown?.”

Now that the King had turned down four of the six animals, there were only two left: the fish and the frog. The fish was known to be the fastest swimmer in the ocean and was respected for his strength. The frog, on the other hand, was seen as weak and fragile. However, the frog was famous for being hard-working.

The King announced that the two animals would have a race and the winner would be crowned “King of the Ocean.”

The King announced that the two animals would have a race and the winner would be crowned “King of the Ocean.”

As expected, when the race first began, the fish was in the lead. When he saw that he was far ahead of the Frog, he decided to slow down and relax in the coral.
