Brooklyn is super excited! She gets to build a rocket for the first time!

"What should we do first?" asked Julian, her best friend.

"We should first start sketching some ideas," Brooklyn stated. They started walking to Brooklyn's house to get their supplies for the rocket and to sketch. Their science teacher, Mr. Hickory, said that the rocket had to be tall and it had to fly through the air. Julian and Brooklyn could not wait to start building the rocket!

When they both got to Brooklyn's house they immediately started to build the rocket. Julian sketched while Brooklyn built. Brooklyn's dog, Max, tried eating the candy in the room.

"Max, No," Julian said shaking her head at Max. "Bad Puppy."

"I finished the rocket!" Brooklyn exclaimed. Julian and Brooklyn were so excited to bring their rocket in to school the next day to show Mr. Hickory. But there was one thing wrong. Would it fly? Brooklyn started to worry about getting the rocket to fly. They would have to test it out tonight.

Brooklyn and Julian went outside just before it got dark to try and test out their rocket. Brooklyn was super worried that she did something wrong. Julian tried telling Brooklyn that it was alright but Brooklyn still felt nervous. When they launched off the rocket... Up, up, up it went! Brooklyn was super happy and Julian just wanted to show off to the other students.

They were ready.

The next day at school Julian, Brooklyn, and Mr. Hickory went out into the fields to go fly to rocket. When Brooklyn tried to fly the rocket, it wouldn't move! Brooklyn started to panic as they looked at the disapproving shake of Mr. Hickory's head.

"It worked last night," I heard Julian mumble by my ear.

"Then I suggest you try again," Mr. Hickory stated and then walked back inside the school. The girls had some work to do.
