ARTHUR CONAN DOYLE

Books about Sherlock Holmes from childhood were special for me. Read it again, they still attracted, promising exciting investigations, amazing adventures and unique secrets, which the great detective was always shrouded in.

My impression about this book

Sherlock Holmes is a fictional private detective created by British writer Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Calling himself a "consultative detective" in the stories, Holmes is known for his skill in observation, deduction, forensics and logical reasoning, bordering on the fantastic ones that he uses in investigating cases for a wide range of clients.

“A Study in Scarlet” is the first story that opens the door to the world of deduction and unprecedented observation. And here we have the most important thing - acquaintance with the heroes who have long been firmly loved by readers of all ages and categories.

John Watson is a retired military medical officer, after all the trials that fell to his lot, he ends up in London. He has poor health, low income, and no friends at all. By pure chance, he becomes a companion of an eccentric chemist-enthusiast. And he not only shares with him the payment for housing, but also brings the doctor a touch of adventurism. Now kind John certainly does not shine to die from the classic English blues!

A great book, a great start to a wonderful story. I like the musicality and lightness of the text, it has humor, kindness and hope for justice, and the horror of the murder is described without bloody details, but with disgust and bitterness for the event.

I would like to note that the character of Holmes in this book is not yet sufficiently formed by the author. Watson and his observations are clearly in the foreground here. The detective himself seems softer than in subsequent works. He willingly shares his discoveries, and they do not look yet shocking. His sharp eye, outstanding mind and specific hobbies are simply noted.

I sincerely wish everyone to experience this magic on themselves and, if you have not had time to enjoy reading, correct it immediately) After all, this is the literature that is destined to live for centuries.
