I chose to write a fractured fairy tale about Little Red Riding Hood because I grew up reading her as a child. I idolized her for a while growing up; I always wanted to wear a red cape and explore in the woods. I also used to be able to walk through the woods to my grandmothers house. Although I have never seen a wolf, I'd say we had a lot in common.

Once upon a time, there was a young girl who wore a red cloak everywhere. Her name was Little Red Riding Hood. She Lived in a small village near the forest.

One morning, Little Red Riding Hood's mother asked if she would like to make a trip to her grandmother's house. Little Red Riding Hood happily agreed. Her mother then began preparing a basket of food for her to take to her grandmother.

Her mother prepared a beautiful basket filled with fruits and sweets. Little Red Riding Hood could not wait to make it to her grandmother's.

When the basket was all ready, Little Red Riding Hood said goodbye to her mother and set out on her journey. She could hear her mother yelling from the cottage, "don't dawdle."
"Don't dawdle!"

As Little Red Riding Hood walked among the woods she noticed some beautiful flowers. Forgetting what her mother had said about dawdling, she stops to pick some flowers.

Little Red Riding Hood was enjoying herself so much, she was not aware a young boy was approaching her.

Once at her side, he gently reached out and introduced himself. "Hi, I'm Jake" and she replied, "nice to meet you, my name is Little Red Riding Hood.

He then asked "What are you doing wandering the forest alone?" She explained, "I am on my way to visit my grandmother, would you like to come?" "I would love to" answered Jake.

As the two of them walked and talked, Little Red Riding Hood was surprised by how much they had in common. She was excited for him to meet her grandmother.

Lost in conversation the two must have taken a wrong turn. Night was beginning to fall and she knew she must find her way to her grandmother's before its too dark.

Little Red Riding Hood admits that his company has been appreciated but, she must continue alone. They bid farewell and part their ways.
Little Red Riding Hood continues to walk but, it has become very dark. She hopes that she is going the right way.

"Twig snaps"
"What was that?" she wondered.
"Bushes rustle"
As she turns around to see who is there, she finds herself face to face with a werewolf.
"Basket goes flying"

Their eyes meet for a split second and then Little Red Riding Hood takes off, in pursuit of her grandmother's cottage.
She can see the house in the distance but, she can also see a full moon. She knows werewolves go crazy when there is a full moon. This only makes her run faster.
