For my psychology class!

Arnold was an Aggressive Alpaca. He would say and do things that hurt his friend's feelings.

You Stink!
:(((
Arnold also spent a lot of time playing video games.

When combining data from 400 studies, it was shown that playing violent video games increases aggression for youth and adults, which might explain why Arnold is so mean sometimes!

Arnold also has a twin sister, Arabelle, who is not as mean as he is. This is because Arnold is a boy, and he has something called Testosterone that makes him more likely to be mean or start violence.

One day when playing video games, Arnold kept losing. It made him very frustrated.
Frustration can lead to anger, which sparks aggression. In something known as the frustration-aggression principle, it is proven that the principle that frustrates creates anger, which generates aggression.

When Arnold saw his friends again, he took out his frustrations on them, and called them mean names.
I don't even want to be friends with you guys!
Do you know why people (or Alpacas) are aggressive?

Animal and human brains have neural systems that, when provoked, could make someone angry or calm them down! One reason why Arnold might be mean. is because a region of his brain known as the frontal lobes are messed up! This section of your brain controls impulses, or the urge you have to do certain things. Arnold has little control, which is why he says the first thing that comes to his mind!

A social script is a culturally modeled guide for how to act in various situations. After watching a lot of TV, Arnold realized a common theme in TV shows is that he should "act like a man." This is why he acts so mean! He is trying to follow what he thinks he should be!

Arnold's mommy had a talk with him. She told him he spends too much time watching TV and playing video games and he is starting to take out his anger on his family. Arnold's mommy told him to spend less time on the television.
