Mr. Lantern stood at the whiteboard teaching the math facts. While Mr. Lantern taught, the class fidgeted and doodled in their seats. When Mr. Lantern turned around the whole class pretended to listen and pay attention. One girl in the class was doing the work Mr. Lantern had given the class. Mr. Lantern walked around the class and back up to the board.  

He wrote some names on the board and said “ Shylia, Mckenna, Percy and Josiaih. Meet me in the High School Library after school.” 

Meanwhile, at the High School, Mrs. Lantern was reviewing how to write an essay with her class. She looked around the room.

    Mrs. Lantern said “ Veith, Lydia, Bayzne and Jessica. Meet me at the library after school.” 

    The bell rang and school was over. The kids rushed out of their classes and jammed the school’s hallways. As the hallways cleared up, the four, thirteen year olds got their things and headed to the library. 

    “ I wonder why we are going to the library,” Shylia said curiously.  

    “ Yeah, I mean only four out of thirtytwo is like weird cause normally it is like eight kids,” remarked Mckenna.  

    “ True but, why the library? It could have been at the cafeteria,” said Percy.

    “ Well probably not the cafeteria cause it is gross,” added Josiaih. 

The thirteen year olds walked to the library. At the high school the four sixteen  year olds were talking while they walked to the library. 

    “ I have drama practice. I hope this meeting is important cause I am not going to a book battle or anything,”moaned Lydia. 

    “Come on give it a chance,” Veith replied.

    “ Oh wow great now I have to,” Lydia sneered. 

    “ Come on stop being angry and give it a chance, “ Coaxed Bayzne. 

“ Okay fine ,” agreed Lydia.

“ Yeah, let's do this, “ exclaimed Jessica.

As the eight kids walked to the library, the two library assistants opened up the library. 

“ Oh ,I hope they all get here soon cause I cant hold off the phone any longer!” stammered Anabeth

“My goodness Anabeth I think you need to take a chill pill!” Insisted Mylizza “ Only answer one phone at a time the voicemail will pick up the other phone!”

    “Well are they coming ?” Said Anabeth Impatiently. 

    “ Wait, I see ten figures walking this way. “ Declared Mylizza. 

    “ Well how do you know that there are ten.” Insisted Anabeth.

    “ I counted them twice,’’ Mylizza replied. 

As everyone came into the library Anabeth talked on the phone. 

“ Everyone go ahead and sit down, “ insisted Mrs.Lantern.

Once everyone was seated Mr. Lantern said “ I have been informed that you have been chosen to go to another world of magic kind of like Narnia except way bigger! You will save us from evil magical creatures. 

“ Well how are we gonna get there, and when are we going,”babbled Josiaih. 

“ Soon” said Mrs. Lantern

“ How soon?” Lydia worried. 

“ In a couple minutes” said Mr. Lantern

“ Do I have to get clothes packed and do our parents know about this.” Lydia asked. 

“ No you will have all you need there and will get weapons or even magical powers. You will get clothes changed too. I told your parents that you have been chosen to go on an overnight field trip. They said okay because they know you're safe.” Mr. Lantern said.

“My parents know too?” asked Jessica.

“ Yes all your parents know that you are on a field trip and you are safe.” Mrs. Lantern said. 

“ Let's go already,” exclaimed Bayzne.

They went into the back room of the library. They went towards an empty shelveless cabinet. 

“ This cabinet is your transport but only two at a time.” Explained Mrs. Lantern “ We will not be going with you but you will have four horses to kind of guide you.”

“ Okay let's go,” said Lydia.

They went two by two. First it was Shylia and Vieth. Second was Mckenna and Anabeth. Third was Lydia and Percy. Fourth was Bayzne and Mylizza. Fifth was Jessica and Josiaih. Once they all got there they saw that they could do things that they could never do before. 

“ Wow I can fly,” Anabeth exclaimed.

“ Oh my gosh, look at our clothes” gushed Lydia “ They are beautiful.”

“ My gosh Lydia you are right” declared Jessica.

The group was in a swampy area. Each kid had a weapon of some sort. Shylia had a bow and arrow and was practicing on the trees. Mckenna had a sword and was swinging at a tree branch. Anabeth and Josiaih were flying around. Lydia was figuring out how to use a gun. Percy had an assortment of objects for making a trap. Bayzne had a golf club and was hitting plants around him. Mylizza and Jessica were floating on clouds they made close to the ground with their magic. Veith was using his slingshot and launched rocks into the murky brown water covered with algae. Suddenly a huge water snake comes up and tries to bite Vieth. 

“ Aaah” cried Vieth

“ We are coming Vieth” blurted Mckenna. 

The other nine kids rushed to help their friend battle the huge snake.

“ I assume this is a creature we have to defeat” Lydia whispered to her brother. 

“ I believe so” Percy whispered back.

“ I think we better battle this snake then” Bayzne insisted. 

Then Percy started setting traps. Mylizza, Jessica, Josiaih and Anabeth started throwing magic balls at the snake. Veith shot rocks at the snake. Everyone was battling the snake. In no time at all the snake goes down on the ground and just lays there. Mckenna comes and tries to slice the snake. The snake was tricky and was not dead. The water snake tried to bite Mckenna. She cut the snake in lots of pieces. They won the battle of the snake.

“What we're done already,” Bayzne pouted.

“Not with our journey no” Anabeth told him. “ We just did a little part of our quest.”

“ Oh, okay,” Bayzne said excitedly.

They soon walked out of the swampy forest. They were in a grassy and rocky area. They soon saw four horses grazing in the grass. 

“ Those must be the horses our teachers talked about,” declared Mckenna. 

“ Yeah, probably” Shylia agreed. 

“ Let's whistle to them,” Bayzne Insisted. 

“ No, that will just spook them,” Percy explained.

“ Let's just walk over there,” Lydia said hopefully.

“ No, let's fly” said Anabeth.

“ Anabeth some of us can't fly” blurted Lydia.

“ Oh, yeah, um you will just hold onto my hand and we can fly together” said Anabeth smiling.

“ Oh that's fine with me” Lydia replied.

Everyone held on to each other. It took a lot of trust to fly together. They set off in the air and soon got to the horses and started pairing for who did not have a horse. Mckenna rode with Lydia. Percy rode with Shylia. They took off and rode to a flowery meadow in a hillside by a river. Bees were buzzing. Frogs were jumping. All was well and peaceful on the hill. Until a horse stepped on an anthill shaped bump in the hill. An evil fairy comes out and starts hexing spells at them. 

“mananca-le mare dragă mată care este foarte vech eucide și smulge-i pe acești copii și surprinde-i pe cei magici” said the evil fairy.

“ Why are you mad at us” Josiaih asked the fairy. 

    “ Well you crushed my home with the weird headed centaur and I am mad at you cause that thing doesn't know any better” the evil fairy shouted in her tiny voice. 

“ I can conjure up a new house for you to live in” suggested Anabeth.

“ That would be nice” said the evil fairy” I would learn to become a nice fairy so please help me.”

“ Oh well that's good we will first start with making you a new house and you can learn how to be nice from Percy and Mckenna over there.” 

“ Thank you” the fairy said “ Oh and my name is Lizvid”. 

“ Nice to meet you Lizvid” Percy said

“I used to work for the evil witch of this land and now l have run away and hid in this hillside for a while hoping she would not find me, so watch out for her. Summon me with this bell if you need me”Lizvid said handing Percy the bell.
