A is for Anxiety...

You leave the house to run some errands, or maybe your going to school or work and every time you come home from being out there’s a mess. What could be going on? Why is your dog acting this way? Well your dog may be suffering from separation anxiety.

Signs of Anxiety:

Constant barking, whining or howling.

Chewing or digging .

Having accidents inside.

B is for Begging...

Does your dog beg when your eating? Do you give you dog table food? You are not alone! A dog begging for food is very common.

Begging habits develop in dogs when they are given table food. While you're eating if they’re always given food when they beg they will continue to beg because they know they will be given food. You can prevent this type of behavior in your dog by making sure that your dog is not given food when he or she begs, and by not feeding your dog bits of food while you're eating.

C is for Chewing...

Dogs sometimes develop chewing behaviors due to boredom, and keeping dogs active can help prevent this behavior from occurring. This can also be due to separation anxiety. Chewing can become a very destructive behavior if your dog is not properly trained. The behavior of chewing can be damaging to your items, such as shoes, couches, even carpets.

D is for Different...

There are many different breeds, colors, hair styles and size of dogs. There are over 340 dog breeds in the world however the AKC only acknowledges 192 breeds. There are black, brown, white, and some even with spots, the colors, textures and patterns are endless. Dogs come in many sizes and can weigh anywhere from 7-100 lbs.

E is for Expensive...

Pet ownership is an emotional and financial commitment. Whether you buy from a pet store or a breeder, adopt an animal from a shelter, or take in a stray, initial costs are just the beginning of what you will spend.

There are two main cost areas when owning a dog: the initial cost (Vet visits, vaccinations, etc.) and then general costs (food, toys, routine vet visits, etc.) 

F is for friend...

Dogs are loyal, kind, understanding, and they all have different personalities. Most dog owners will call their dog their children. They didn't make the phrase "A mans best friend for no reason."

Companionship is perhaps the most obvious thing that dogs give us, but this is only the beginning. 

G is for Guard Dog...

Having a dog can be a sense of security. When trained properly a dog can be trained to "guard" your home. For instance attack intruders, and or bark to alert of an intruder. On the other hand you can have the absolute opposite and have a dog who loves anyone and everyone.

H is for Hyper...

When dogs are puppies they can be a little hyper (or a lot). The puppy stage usually last till the dog is a year old. Dogs who are hyper will run around like crazy and jump on people. Getting your dog lots of exercise can tame the hyper-ness a bit.

I is for Intelligent...

Dogs are way more intelligent than humans known. There are some breeds that are smarter than others. Dogs can sense emotion and will , read our facial expressions, and even follow our pointing gestures. They seem to have a special skill for knowing exactly how we’re feeling.

J is for jumping...

One bad habit some dogs have is jumping on people. They are doing cause they're happy, but sometimes they can hurt that person. Even though the dog doesn't mean to.

K is for kindhearted...

Dogs are a very kindhearted animal. When they know you are sad they comfort you. They love you more than anything else.

L is for loyal...

Loyalty is just a natural behavior for dogs. Dogs are pack animals, meaning they are social who like the company of others.

M is for manipulative...

Dogs can sometimes be very manipulative. Dogs will whine to get their way. They will give you those cute, big puppy dog eyes while begging, so that you will give in.

N is for needy...

When dogs are being needy they can sometimes be whinny. When a dog wants to be petted they may whine and rub themselves against you to get your attention.

O is for obedient...

Obedience comes natural for dogs. But a lot faster when positively reinforced. Learning simple commands is easy.
