Never seen by an adult,

Often confused for a shooting star,

Comets can travel very far!

Comets are made up of rocks and ice,

You'll rarely see the same one twice!

is for Dwarf Star

Dwarf stars aren't small, but lesser in color.

There are five different colors, all different than another!

Red, yellow, white, black, brown.

Dwarf stars are the coolest around!

There are two types of eclipses - solar and lunar.

Can you believe you didn't learn this sooner?!

The moon can block the sun, and the Earth can, too.

It gets so dark, you won't know what to do!

Just like a telescope, a finder helps you see the sky.

You can see moons, stars and planets up high!

It's a small piece that attaches to a telescope,

Just make sure you wash it with water and soap!

A group of stars, planets, and other stuff,

Galaxies can never get enough!

We live in a galaxy, we call it the Milky Way.

Galaxies are bigger than I can ever say!

Jupiter sure is a special one!

A way to measure temperature on Earth,

It was invented way before your birth!

One of the basic measurements of the unit SI,

Kelvin is a measurement you cannot deny!

Used to measure distance when talking about space,

Light can move at a rapid pace!

Planets can be thousands or million light-years away,

You could not travel there in a day!

A streak of light that looks like a shooting star,

Meteors are usually not bigger than a car.

It can leave a big hole in the ground called a crater,

It's easiest to see it at night - much later!

is for Neptune

It's the eighth planet from the sun,

Which mean it's never been seen by anyone!

It's the coldest planet, it freezes all liquids.

It orbits in the opposite direction as the other planets - how gifted!

is for Orbit

All planets orbit the sun,

Meaning the planets move around the sun and cannot be outrun.

It's the cause of our seasons, it gives us each year,

When it's December, a complete orbit is near!

There are eight planets to our solar system.
