Scenario One
Princess Tina's Lesson

Tina was a beautiful princess that loved learning. When her private tutor told
her that she would be doing a science lab the next day, she got anxious and
couldn't sleep that night. The next day, she even arrived to her tutor's room
fifteen minutes early. However, her tutor was nowhere to be seen. Too eager
for the lab, she decided to just start the lab anyways. Although her tutor had
instructed her to wear normal clothes such as a t-shirt and a pair of slacks for
the lab, Princess Tina wanted to keep wearing her puffy, red dress. She had also
been told to put on the goggles, gloves, and aprons from the storage room, but
Tina did not want to wear them for they made her look goofy. She reasoned
that since her teacher wasn't here, she was not required to do so. The princess
looked at her lab sheet but thought there was just too much reading to be done.
Instead, she decided to do the project her own way.
First, she filled a test tube with a mysterious chemical. Thinking the
substance seemed a bit weird, she took a deep whiff of the smell. Suddenly, her
nose started burning. Not knowing what to do, Tina poured the substance down
the drain and threw the tube into the trash can, breaking the tube as the tube
hit the bottom. In the process of doing so, Tina had cut finger, but didn't want
to tell anyone since she was afraid she might get in trouble. Not being able to
find a band-aid, she covered her little wound with a piece of tape.

When the tutor finally walked into the classroom, Princess Tina immediately
tensed up. After ten seconds of glaring at Tina, he finally spoke up, "Tina, I
thought I had taught you better. We have spent weeks studying the safety
rules. I leave once to make some more copies of your worksheets and come
back to this mess. I am utterly disappointed in you. You are NOT going without
consequences for this. However, I think it's best that we work out the problems
you have created here, first.
The tutor noticed Tina's poorly bandaged wound and addressed that problem
first. He took off the piece of tape and thoroughly cleaned Tina's cut. He then
placed a neat band-aid onto the wound. Thinking the sink was smelled funky,
the teacher walked over and realized that Tina had poured Hydrochloric Acid
down the drain. The tutor began running water to wash out the acid. Noticing
that Princess Tina's clothes were contaminated with the acid, he instructed her
to go change and throw away her dress. When she came back, the tutor
lectured her on how she should have been wearing the proper lab clothes. (lab
apron, goggles, gloves, and not a puffy dress) Even so, she still should have
waited for him to arrive to class. Then, none of this mess would have happened.

The tutor told the king and queen what Princess Tina
had done. The king and queen were also disappointed
their daughter. As punishment, she was not allowed to
do anymore labs for the rest of the winter season. The
tutor also gave the princess an assignment where she
had to write a 20 page essay on lab safety and the
mistakes she made today.
Feeling horrible about her decisions, the princess
vowed that she would always follow the safety rules
from now on.
