This book is dedicated to my sister for supporting this idea. But especially my mom and dad for helping me with this idea and proof- reading countless times. I hope you enjoy The Adventures of Aubrey and The Virus!

This is Aubrey. Aubrey is 9 years old and lives in the small town of Maeville. She has a cat named Edwin. They love exploring the town together!

As Aubrey and Edwin came in the door Aubreys mom, Amber, was right behind her. Amber said, "Did you hear? There is a virus going around called, The Scratchy Virus" Aubrey had never heard of this before, so she said "No."

Aubrey was afraid but it was in a far away place across the world so she was not worried. She cuddled close to Edwin and fell asleep.

Aubrey woke up the next morning hungry. So she went to the dining room and found her parents getting ready to go to work. "Have a great day sweetheart! I love you!"said both her parents. Aubrey was off to start her day at school.

While Aubrey and all of her friends were at recess, her teacher, Mrs.Rayner, told them to gather around for an announcement. "Students, the president just told all of the schools to close. We don´t know how long we will be closed but we have to leave tomorrow, so pack up your things. Bring your Chromebooks home for online classes too. We will miss you!"

When Aubreys parents came home she was very sad. "I don´t know how this will work!" said her dad, "I´´m a musician and producer! How will I work?" "I don´´´t know. We´re trying to learn more about it but we didnt expect it to spread so fast!" exclaimed Aubrey´s mom. "Mom? Dad? I´m scared. I don´´´´´t know what´s happening and everyone is telling me to wear a mask and stay home! Why can´´´´t we leave the house? Why can´´´´´t we go out to eat?" said Aubrey. "Take a seat and let me explain." said Aubreys´´´´´ mom.

"You know how glitter spreads so fast? Thats like the virus. If one person has glitter on their hands and touches someone else, they get glitter on them too. That´s what happens with germs. If one person is sick and dosen´´´´´t stay home or if they don´´´t know their sick, they could get other people sick too. Even one speck could get someone sick That´´´´s why we can´´´´t go out to eat or leave the house. We wear masks because if someone coughs or sneezes then that germ can go on us and get us sick when we breath it in."

"But I dont feel sick so why do I have to stay home?" asked Aubrey. "If you have even one speck of germ on you, you could get other people sick. You might not know you´re sick or you could not even get sick, you could feel fine but still have the germ on you and give it to other people." said Aubreys mom. "Ok. Iḿ getting kind of sleepy so I think iḿ going to go to bed." said Aubrey."Yawn! Me too! Goodnight beeny! I love you!"said Aubreys dad. "I love you both" said Aubrey. Aubrey went upstairs to her room.

Aubrey was sad and scared but then she realized that it was all going to be ok. Everything would be back to normal before her birthday. It was March! Her birthday will be in July! That´s four months away! She was worried about her vacation to an amusement park though. They were supposed to leave on June 1st! The park said that they were opening on June 1st! All she could do was stay home and wait for this to all be over. She cuddled up next to Edwin again and fell asleep.

After she woke up she heard someone talking and she saw that her dad was having a live concert! She was so exited! Her dad sang for one hour. As the concert ended she realized that she had to get online for class! So she hurried into the dining room with her Chromebook to log on to class.

Aubrey ran into the dining room to log on to class. Class started at 10:00 and it was already 9:58! She needed to hurry! Phew! She made it in on time! Mrs. Rayner gave them a math paper and a reading paper to do online. She finished up her homework and could smell some cookies. She decided to go check the kitchen.

When Aubrey got in the kitchen she saw her mom making some cookies! "We have nothing else to do so I might as well make cookies!" said her mom. Aubrey said thank you and went in the living room to give her dad a cookie.
