Dear reader , if you are interested in the curiosities of England , I think these stereotypes will be interesting to you .
All national stereotypes are based on a truth , but how big is this truth ?

British People drink a lot of tea .
This is one stereotype that , most of the time , is actually right . Brits love to sip , slurp and gulp down tea while occasionally dunking a digestive in there too . The fact that those abroad know about their love of tea means no one will be surprised when you whip out the Tetley's .If you want to take if a step further , stick your pinky out when sipping to ensure you fulfil the stereotype of a British tea-drinker .
They drink an awful lot ...
...Of alcohol -that is .When they are not drinking tea , they are drinking alcohol.Beer, wine , cider , spirits, alcoholic ice lollies-it all goes down a treat.

They are super polite .
That would be correct -polite and proud . They are overtly appreciative and profusely apologetic , but it's what make them so darn nice .They'd encourage you not to try to prove this one wrong .Thank you , please .
They eat terrible food.
Their battered sausages and mushy peas they might be a 'posh' bunch , but their refined status falls short at the dishes most synonyms with Britain : marmite on toast , chips with curry sauce , spam and stodgy rice puddings . Not precisely what one would call 'culinary sophistication' -however , the reality is , they actually do eat other foods (well , hangover days excluded ) and London now has 66 Michelin -starred restaurants .

They are all friends with the Queen .
They love her . In an age of over-sharing , she maintains her haughty habit of under-sharing , and they will still don't know what she's really thinking , 65 years on .She has a sound sense of style , still rides her horses despite her 91 years .
Them Brits are emotionally stunted .
Again , this could be one brought about by the movies or those awfully posh accents they are believed to have , or Hugh Grant ; either way it's thought that Brits are not the best when it comes to showing their emotions or even saying what they mean . They know that they are far from emotionally dead and love a good cry at Corrie , but to the rest of the world they stay ticght-lipped , always keep calm and just carry on . A great philosophy for life if you ask me .

They are mad about football
With all of them teams , sports bar and international stars you can see how other people might believe it's all they think bout . If you are not fan , you will quickly learn to pretend you are and arm yourself with a make-believe favourite club , because overseas locals love to ask who you support . Or , you just have to shut down any footie related conversation with the revelation that you are a Brit who doesn't even know the rules of the football , let alone have any interest .
The Brits watch a lot of TV
For some reasons around the world , they are thought of as a couch potatoes addicted to our tellies . Yeah sure, they love a period drama and get glued to the X Factor or ab it of Strictly but they are not all about the little screens .
