INTRODUCTIONS TO THE CHARACTERS

Julia Garcia

Julia Garcia is 7 years old and she is used to being the baby of the family. She is studious, neat and practically perfect, just as her parents like it. Her only weakness is the mall. Julia is the biggest shopaholic around town. She is in Gr.1 with her best friend, Annabelle Kri. Julia has a big brother and a big sister.

Rebecca Garcia

Rebecca Garcia is 13 years old and she is the oldest sibling of the family. Although she doesn't get the best grades in school, she is playful, kind and witty. Her obsession is soccer. Rebecca is in Gr.8 with her best friend, Astrid Cio. Rebecca is with the popular crew at school. She has a little sister and a little brother, both of which annoy her very much.

Drew Garcia

Drew Garcia is 10 years old and he is the middle child of the family. Drew is really good at science and language but he doesn't excel in math. He is kind and funny. Drew's loves to game and he has won so many gaming awards! Drew is in Gr.6 with his best friend, Roger Pricket. The two friends often stir up trouble in the household. Drew has his own band called The Miracles. Drew has one little and one big sister.

Daniel Garcia

Daniel Garcia, also known as dad from his children, works as a photographer. Mr. Garcia gets invited to special events, where he takes pictures and posts them on his blog. Daniel is a good, kind, parent, but he knows when to draw the line.

Lisa Garcia

Lisa Garcia, also known as mom from her children, works as the right hand of the Google CEO! Mrs. Garcia's job gives her many perks in life, such as free meals and free laundry service, but due to this profession, she doesn't get to see her family much.

The Marvelous Makeover

It was a hot summer day and all three kids and their father were at home, planning Lisa's surprise birthday party, which was in 5 months. "We should definitely do red streamers" voted Rebecca. "No, we should do orange streamers!" argued Drew. "I already told you, she likes pink the best!" said a cross Julia. "Alright, alright, stop fighting. I will give you two streamer options and then we'll take a vote and decide based on the majority. Purple or blue?"

"Blue, Purple, Purple" were the votes that came in. "Alright, purple streamers it is!" announced the father of three. "Now Julia, what do we have left to plan?" asked Dad. "The flavor of the cake and the guest list, Dad." answered Julia, looking at her clipboard. "Alrighty then..." he said.Then Rebecca spoke "Umm... dad, I have a proposal for the cake. Mom always said that red velvet cake was her favorite, so I think that we should do that type of cake." They all nodded and that was finalized.

"Now, for the guest list, I think we should invite all our family and friends. In my opinion we should invite those two ladies that always walk home with mom. What are their names again?"suggested Drew. "Jessica and Taliana" answered Julia promptly. "Yeah, Jessica and Taliana." remembered Drew. With one swift nod from her dad, Julia jotted down the names. " My word, it's almost midnight! Get into bed quickly." Said Mr. Garcia. "Goodnight" chorused his children. Then Mr. Garcia hit the sack himself, before his wife came into bed.

"Rebecca, Drew wake up! The bus is leaving soon!" shouted Julia. "Mom, it's been forever since you woke us up!" exclaimed Rebecca. "No silly, it's Julia!" said Julia, with a small smile on her face. "Whatever it is, I didn't do it." grumbled a groggy Drew from under the covers. "Your going to be late for gym class, Drew." Julia singsonged. "What? No!" Both of the older siblings scrambled out of bed. Julia smiled to herself. She loved scaring her siblings. Eventually, they all were ready to board the bus.

"Alright class..." Rebecca groaned. Something bad always happened when her teacher used that tone. "Today we are going to be working with the students of Gr.1!"the teacher continued "Isn't that exciting?" The whole class nodded half heartedly. Just on time, the first graders entered the room, Julia leading them. There was an awkward silence."Alright class, your task is to show the first graders around the school." said Rebecca's teacher. The eight grade nodded but didn't move.

Then Rebecca came to her senses. "C'mon Julia, I'll give you a tour of the school." Julia and Rebecca stepped into the hallway, which brought the rest of their classmates back to their senses too. Rebecca's classmates and Julia's classmates paired up, and the older partner led the younger partner down various hallways, pointing out whenever there was a classroom. Finally, the day was over. They boarded the bus and arrived at home.

When the three siblings got home, a big surprise awaited them. "Dad, we're home!" Drew yelled. But instead of the familiar "How was school?" from their dad, a perky "Hi darlings, your dad had to go away to Mexico for an emergency so I took a few days off work!" came from their mom. They all raced towards the sound of her voice, since she had never been home when they came back from school. "Hi mom!" chorused Rebecca, Julia and Drew, each giving their mom a hug. "Do you like these flowers? I just planted them!" They all nodded, admiring the flowers. "Thanks!" mom said. "I forgot how much fun gardening is!"

"So, I had an idea earlier on" continued their mom"I thought that we could all get makeovers!" "OMG!Yay!!!!!!!!" gushed Rebecca and Julia. "Ok, fine" said Drew, though he looked like he wanted to explode with joy. "I'm glad all of you are as excited as me!" exclaimed Mrs. Garcia "We'll leave for the makeover salon on about 15 minutes. Quickly finish your homework!" The three siblings ran to their bags and got their books.Then, they quickly did all their homework and got dressed.
