To all the animals in the world who have suffered the loss of their homes and the wrath of deforestation.
To all the conservationists/conservationist groups in the world.

Like me! I'm an animal who has suffered from the wrath of deforestation!
And me!
But I suffered most! So I am most deserving of this book!
No, I suffered most! I lost my eBook, remember?!

When Pacey the Parrot's home was first destroyed by humans, she had to say goodbye to many of her good friends and her father, who didn't make it out of the forest in time.

Pacey the Parrot
It is with heavy hearts that we pronounce all those who are not here dead. And even if they aren't, we will probably never see them again.

Pacey the Parrot was very sad. So was everyone who survived the "attack". For days, the survivors wandered about, trying to find a new home. They were very hungry, but they could not find enough food. Sometimes, they didn't get any food at all.

Why do you always carry your eBook around?
It is precious.

They traveled for days, but they still couldn't find a home. Pacey the Parrot and her friends visited very interesting places while trying to find a nice home with trees and shelter.

Hmm. I think this is not the place.
I can't get out! Go find a nice home to live in! Get out of here!
One day while searching a human's home, they were sighted! All of them ran or flew away, but a nasty, sneaky human managed to catch Pacey the Parrot's mother. The human put Pacey the Parrot's mother in a cage, and she couldn't fly away.

Mommy!

Hurry up, kid! We gotta go!

Pacey the Parrot was devastated. But there was nothing she could do except continue the search for a new home.

Why are you crying, Olliver the Owl?
I lost my eBook in the girl's house.

After many, many more months, they finally found another home.

WE FINALLY FOUND A NEW HOME!!! HUZZAH!!!
We're literally jumping for joy! I can do a back-flip!
Um... who's Joy?
And they lived in peace, until, just a month later, bulldozers came in again to chop down trees and build a new city! Only four animals, Pacey the Parrot, Andy the Ant, Olliver the Owl and Cecil the Chick, made it out alive and in a group this time!

Pacey the Parrot had had enough. So had everyone else. As a result, she and her friends ventured into the city to tell the president.

Those are a few of the birds who came into the house! Do you believe me now? And why didn't you let me keep my parrot?

The same human who
kidnapped Pacey the
Parrot's mother
There, Pacey the Parrot found out that the girl who had captured her mother had been forced to let Pacey the Parrot's mother go. Pacey the Parrot was very pleased.
In the city, they also managed to find out where the president was staying by nicking a newspaper, a map and a pen (that still had ink in it) from the dustbin.

Hurry, Pacey the Parrot!
Mmph. Got it!

And so the journey began.
