A Lesson to Learn

2

Once upon a time there was a happy
teacher and a beautiful,
and thoughtful teacher
assistant. The children
loved them both.
3
Each day the students would work hard so
they could work on
the computer. These
students loved to work
on the computer.
4

5
But the teacher and thebeautiful and thoughtful
teacher assistant hated
when the students worked
on the computer.
6
Now you may think this is strange because
students can learn many
things while working
on a computer.
7
But for some reason thesestudents always forgot to
raise their hands when
working on the computer
and each day would go
something like this.
8

"Teacher! I can't do this!!!" screamed Amy (over and over
again)
"Teacher! I need some help!!!" yelled
Eduardo (over and over
again)
"Why won't someonehelp me!" yiped Steven
(over and over again)
"I really need some help here!" shouted
DeAndre (over and
over again)
"What's going on here.I can't fix this!" cried Larry
(over and over again)
"My computer won'twork!" exclaimed Lionell
(over and over again)
9
As you may have guessedthe teacher was ready to pull
her hair out. She didn't know
who to help first. She was
used to students who raised
their hands, took turns, and
waited patiently.

10
The teacher began to think hard and so did the beautiful
and thoughtful assistant.

11
The teacher and the beautiful andthoughtful assistant finally came up
with a brilliant idea. They would
ask the students who always raised
their hands in class to give them
some ideas.

12
And here is whatthe students said.
13
Sergio said "I raise my handso the teacher will pick me."
14

15
Enrique said " I raise my hand so the teacher can see me."
16

17
Atiqua said "I raise my hand becauseI want the teacher to call on me."
18

Atiqua hid two hands in her picturecan you find them?
19
Tony said "The teacher shouldnot call on a student if he does
not raise his hand.

20
Remiko said "If you don't raise yourhand you might not be called on.

21
Jaudon said "If they don't raise their hand they should not get on the
computer."

22
Destiny said "You should raiseyour hand before you say something."

23
Tonisha said "They should losepoints off the back of their
point card if they don't raise
their hand.

24
Danny said "They shouldn't haverecess if they don't raise their hand
nicely."

25
The teacher was happy again because now she had lots of ways to help teach
the kids to raise their hands and...she
would not have to buy a wig.
