We observed how the water cycle worked in class. We each filled a bag with water and food colouring. Over time we observed evaporation, condensation and precipitation.

"Without a water cycle, there would be no water and our plants will die." Tatum P3
"For things to grow, we need rain and that is what the water cycle does, it makes rain for our plants." Kaheen P3

our growing seeds

seeds need water, sunlight, soil and air...

we created our "recycled garden",
using some scrap parer.. and our creativity
we drew our ideal green garden..
and then we posted it on our eTwinning padlet!

4A, 4B and 4C Mattarello

In April, we started to sow seeds and grow plants at school and home

We have been designing gardens as part of a Keep Scotland Beautiful Pocket Garden Project. Primary 3 had to follow a strict design brief. The one featured here was chosen to feature on television.

We posted our real plants and our ideal gardens on these two fantastic Padlets!

it's planting time!

"First you take a seed and put it in the ground...
Than you get some water and pour it all around!"

Primary school of Aldeno
Story: Katie grows a bean plant

Katie grows vegetables in her garden. Katie likes beans. They are her favourite vegetables. Katie grows a bean plant. She gets a small jar. Katie gets some tissue paper and a bean seed.

She puts some water and tissue paper in the jar. Katie puts the bean in the jar. She gives the seed some water and sunlight. It grows! Now it is a bean plant.

Katie put some soil in a big pot. She puts the bean plant in the pot. Katie gives the plant some water. It grows flowers! Now there are beans on the plant! Katie and her family eat the beans. They are good! YUM!

Finally, we made videos to show our plants...
Well done, Green Gardeners!
