I am Ricardo

I Am Poem
1 I am a teenager from the United States,
2 I wonder what will change in the next 100 years,
3 I hear everybody being divided,
4 I see racial and sexual inequality,
5 I want equality and happiness for all,
6 I am one singular voice of many others like me,
7 I pretend to think that others could hear my opinions

I Am Poem
8 I feel like the United States has been more divided since the 2016 Election,
9 I worry that things could get worse in the near future,
10 I cry when nothing changes for the better,
11 I am an advocate for change,
12 I understand that I cannot change everything by myself,
13 I say that everyone should have an equal chance at success,
14 I dream that one day that will be achieved.

Response
I wrote this poem to express who I am in the inside. This voice that I refuse to let out. A voice that is so powerful it could unite us all. So I would like to think.
My Life

Bio Poem
1 Ricardo
2 Instinctive, entertaining, ambiguous, discreet like a ninja in the night
3 Son of Alicia and Ernesto
4 Lover of coffee, sleep, and nature
5 Who feels thankful to be alive, miserable when doing homework, and jittery after 3 Starbucks double shots in 4th period.
6 Who needs more caffeine, alone time, and letting his hair blow in the wind.

Bio Poem
7 Who gives his money, time, and patience to tend to his friends.
8 Who fears people, the unknown, and elevators
9 Who would like to see Italy, Disney World, Germany
10 Resident of Santee, California.
11 Rivera

Response
This poem is about who I am on the outside. The person I show to people. Unlike the poem previously im not afraid to show these traits. I consider this the real me but not showing everything.

The Girl

Re-Creation Poem
1 The first time I walked I stumbled,
2 Beneath my steps, my breath was cold like the winter,
3 Cold, and weighted down as a 1,000,000 pound cannonball,
4 She came out pulling,
5 As I walked toward her direction,
6 We stared into each other’s eyes,
7 Light in her eyes, a smile,
8 I didn’t say anything,
9 There she stood,
10 Before me, then gone.

Response
When typing this poem two things came to mind. If I continued typing this it could end up being a really cheesy romance movie. And the second thing is that an event like this happened. It ended up being the relationship I am in now. Going one year and a month now.
We Have Liftoff

Imitation Poem
1 It was the summer of 1969
2 A magical day when super-science
3 Mingles with the bright stars of dreams
4 It was the summer of 1969
5 We arrive at the launching site
6 It was the summer of 1969
7 The crowds and the cameras
8 It was the summer of 1969
9 Excitement so thick, you can cut it with a knife
10 It was the summer of 1969

Imitation Poem
11 All systems check, T-minus-nine
12 It was the summer of 1969
13 The earth beneath us starts to tremble
14 It was the summer of 1969
15 The scorching blast of golden fire
16 It was the summer of 1969
17 The air is shattered by the awesome sound
18 It was the summer of 1969
19 Fascination with the eyes, we all stare.
20 It was the summer of 1969

Response
When creating this I got very excited because I knew I could make this poem into the Apollo 11 launch. July 16, 1969 is when we put a man on the moon which is amazing. I'm a very big fan of SpaceX and NASA. I am also very excited for the Crew Demo 2 happening May 30, 2020 3:22 EST.

This was really based on topics I don't enjoy. Topics and stuff I consider misery. I have chosen this work specifically due to it being a Metallica song that I really enjoy.
A Man Named
Ricardo

Limerick Poem
1 There was this man named Ricardo
2 He said, “See you in Monte Carlo!”
3 He was rather a fool
4 Well the girls would drool
5 When he drove off in his Zentorno

Response
Well my name is Ricardo as shown in the first line. Monte Carlo is an actual place I would love to visit. I think of myself as a fool because im not the brightest sometimes. I don't really have an answer for the forth liune it just rhymed. And the Zentorno is my favorite car in GTA.
Elon Musk our
Savior

Ode Poem
1 Oh, Elon Musk,
2 Your brains and need to make things efficient,
3 With your smarts of electric vehicles,
4 The determination of wanting to go to mars,
5 And the exciting idea of eliminating traffic by building underground superhighway tunnels under major cities is impressive,

Ode Poem
6 You inspire people old and young,
7 CEO of Tesla, SpaceX, and The Boring Company you have quite a reputation,
8 You resemble the Tony Stark of the real world,
9 Life without you would be incredibly boring,
10 Oh, Elon Musk you’re our savior.

Response
Elon Musk is an absolute legend. Yes his actions can be very questionable at times. As know for his child's name. But he saved not only Tesla but SpaceX from bankruptcy. And is the leader on the electric car world.
The Hospital

Found Poem
1 She sleeps in her own bed,
2 her room, her refuge, transformed into a hospital room,
3 light made her skin look like beeswax,
4 pill bottles,
5 IV pole,
6 BIOHAZARD warning label full of bloody syringes,
7 The world is gray,
8 I close my eyes,
9 The sun is up,
10 released: free

Response
I wrote this based off my fears. I hate hospitals and dentists. I wanted to choose the right wordsto make this so the reader can experince my fear of going.
Cat!

Choral Poem
Speaker A
I am a Cat
I spend my days
And at night
I may seem cute
If you get on my nerves
But if you pet me
I don't like dogs
As I stalk my prey
I only hunt for
I am a
Speaker B
I am a Cat
Laying in the sun
I look for something to bite
But I can be fierce
I will claw you
I'll love you forever
And dogs don't like me
Ready to pounce and surpise
