What is the coronavirus? It is a virus, very similar to a previous one called SARS-CoV-2, and our typical, yearly flu. It is a very quick-transferring disease, which is why it is so scary. It spreads by both touch and through the air.

The first time coronavirus was noticed and reported was on December 31, 2019 in a city in China called Wuhan.

Since then, the coronavirus has spread all over the world!

When people touch infected things and touch their faces, that is how someone gets the coronavirus.

The Saliva residue from people who have the virus can spread through the air and infect many more.

Symptoms of the virus can show after 2-4 days

Some symptoms include:

Fever or chills, Cough, Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, Fatigue, Muscle or body aches, Headache, New loss of taste or smell, Sore throat, Congestion or runny nose, Nausea or vomiting, Diarrhea.

The reason why the virus is dangerous is because it can easily put many people at risk near death.

People that are at risk are:

People at Higher Risk for Severe Illness, People Who Have Weaker Immune Systems, Older Adults, People with Asthma, People with HIV, People with Liver Disease, More for People at Higher Risk.

People with mild cases of the virus usually take about 2 weeks to recover.

Some people may also experience severe cases in which then it will take 3-6 weeks to recover

There is no definite cure just yet, so the World Health Organaization, or WHO, decided that it would be best to stop travel between countries and continents, along with enforcing social distancing, which we are experiencing now.

There is no reason to be truly afraid if you just listen to your parents, and the rules regarding the disease.
