The Watering Hole
Chapter 1
It was a silent day in the peaceful forest where you could hear the beautiful songs of the birds perched on the cedar trees. It was the break of dawn. All the animals were asleep. In the distance, you could hear a mountain crumble into boulders. It was a landslide and it cut off the animals’ water supply. Then all the animals woke up to their leader, the BEAR! He fur was as soft as silk he was the biggest grizzly bear in the world, and he came with troubling news. “A landslide hit the watering hole, and there is no water left. I will look for a new one with two other animals. I choose Cougar (Cougar had the brownest fur you could ever see). And Wolf
is glad to be part of this). They are my best friends. We will plan to be back in a week. And here is some more bad news all our fish are dead. We have lost some of our food supply.” As Bear, Cougar and Wolf set off on their adventure all the other animals would have to look after themselves. Bear, Cougar, and Wolf went off into the peaceful quiet forest

Chapter 2
“We need to get some food,” said Bear. As Bear was looking for berries he heard a stick crack and he looked around. He did not see anything suspicious. So when he got back to their camp he told Wolf and Cougar what he heard. “We must look around just to make sure we’re

not getting watched,” suggested Wolf. “We should split up,” said Cougar. “And And if we get lost we should have signals,” said Bear. “I will climb up a tree and roar as loud as I can,” said Bear. “And I will howl as loud as I can,” said Wolf. “And I will shake the tallest tree,” said Cougar. “If we find or if we hear something we will talk about it when we get back to camp,” said Bear...

Chapter 3
Howl, howl. "Where's Wolf? He must be stuck or something. I will go look,” thought Cougar to himself. As Cougar was walking he met a huge, fallen 900-year-old tree. How was he going to get out of this situation? He tried to jump over but the tree was too big. So he decided to see if he could go to the end of the tree and go around that way. But it took it took forever. The cedar tree was way too long so he used his distress call by shaking a nearby tree. Once Cougar started shaking the nearby tree, It was all up to Bear. Which one would he go looking for, Cougar or Wolf? I’m going to look for Cougar because he has the best sense of smell, and then it will be easier to find Wolf. It will be hard to find Cougar, he could be anywhere. So I will climb a tree and if I can see him shaking the tallest tree. Then I will know where he is thought Bear.
