Chapter 1
Lost Tapes
Journal Subject: Lost Tapes
Friday, March 19, 2020
While clearing out my basement as my parents told me to, I found a box filled with 30 year old missing VHS tapes. I used my old TV that we stored in the basement with a VHS player and put in a tape, labeled 'Recording Log 1'. I then began listening to the tape.
Recording Log 1: Hello, is this thing recording? [static] Okay, my name is Rose Miller and lately, something's been going on. Baby Kassidy's dolly and blanket have gone missing. We've been looking for it for several days now, and we still haven't managed to find it. [static] If anything else happens,
I'll be sure to record it.
Then, the log ended. I found the second recording tape which was about 1 week after the first log. I started listening to the second tape.
Recording Log 2: I swear, I don't know what's going on?! More and more things have gone missing from Baby Kassidy's room. Her teddy bear, her crib, and her curtains. I think [static] I think that there's something lurking around in this house. We only just moved here 2 years ago, but I don't think it's safe anymore. [static] There must be some reason about why the first owners [static] left this house. There must be.
The next log ends. I put in the last to second tape, and I hear the woman's voice. Though, she sounded like she was talking in gasps and her voice was more shaky than it was in previous tapes.
Recording Log 3: I can't stay here anymore, but I'm still packing. I'm too scared to stay here to even continue packing. I'll tell you [static] why. Baby Kassidy... My husband... They've both gone missing now. [static] The lights have been flickering like crazy and scary noises are everywhere. Everything in Baby Kassidy's room.. Is gone. The room itself is empty. [static]
There was a moment of static... The woman began running as you could also hear her footsteps.
Recording Log 3: I'm in the basement right now. I swear, there was something out there. I'm not going crazy. I saw it.. I saw it holding Baby Kassidy's teddy bear. [static] Whoever you are, if you find these tapes, please, run. Run as far away as you can from this place. Look for somewhere else to live. Never come back here. Just run, run and never look back!
I was shocked once I heard the last of that tape. I took it out and put in the last tape. I was honestly kind of scared to listen to it. Before I put it in, I ran out of the basement and went to go look for my parents. I found them just hanging out in the kitchen. My mom was cooking dinner and my dad was checking out the news on his phone at the kitchen table. I was
holding my breath, hoping that those tapes weren't true. My parents just stared at me. I then headed back down to the basement and punched in the last tape.
I listened to the tape for a little, waiting to hear something else besides static, but the woman's voice was gone and most of the tape was just static. Then, I heard something low and deep in the background. A really demonic laugh. But, it was faint, like you could barely hear it. I heard the laugh getting closer and closer as the thing that the woman was mentioning in the previous tapes hovered over the recorder. I started getting anxious, but then all of a sudden, the recording log ended.
I then heard something coming from upstairs. I ran out of the basement and noticed all of the furniture had disappeared. Along with my parents. I felt this cold chill down my spine and like, something was watching me from behind. I suddenly heard a low, deep, demonic laugh... I guess there was no going back now.

Chapter 2
Tornado Warning
I was all alone in my house while my parents were at work. I had the entire house to myself. That is, until around 7pm. I was just watching TV in the living room when a tornado siren began to go off in the city and a warning came on the TV. I kind of already knew the procedure, so I casually went down to the basement, grabbed some food out of the basement pantry, and sat in my bathtub. I stayed in the basement bathroom for about 45 minutes after I heard the warning on the TV disappear. I wasn't taking any chances of going back upstairs and dying, so I just continued to sit in the bathtub, munch on Goldfish snacks, and binge YouTube.
Soon enough, it was getting darker and my phone battery was at 23 percent but
I noticed that the tornado siren was still on. Maybe they just forgot about it. I began hearing raindrops outside and I decided to walk over to the window close to the ceiling. So, I climbed up onto the couch to peek out the window. Then, that's when I saw somebody's dirty bare feet walk on the grass.
"Who the heck would be outside on our lawn, bare feet, at 8:09pm, during a tornado lock-down?" I thought to myself.
I curiously continued peeking out the small window to see if the person on my lawn would leave. But, that wasn't the case. The footsteps stopped on the middle of the lawn for about 3 minutes. Then, they began
to walk closer to the window. That's when I jumped down from the couch and crouched beside it. I was actually getting scared.
Who is that? What does it want from me? Does it know that I'm here, alone in this house? Did it see me? Why my house though?
I had no idea what was going to happen. The person just stood there in front of the window for several minutes, leaving me anxious as ever. That is, when the person outside dropped a human head on the grass. It literally terrified me. I swear, if this was a prank, it wasn't funny.
Was this person planning to kill me?
That's when the person looked through the window and I saw the details of its face so clearly when the lightning flashed. I nearly screamed. I knew that this thing was not human whatsoever or at least to my view. I felt like this thing's eyes were piercing through my soul. I couldn't open my eyes, make a sound, or move or else it would know I'm here. I was virtually just a sitting duck, just waiting to be killed.
And all of a sudden, the humanoid monster or whatever that thing was, began to walk away. But then, I heard my front door open. And this is why I tell myself to lock doors.
Nope, nope, no way. I'm gettin' the heck out of here. I scrambled onto my
feet and crawled out of the window, into the rain. I don't want to die from a monster. If any case, I'd rather die from a natural disaster.
Once I was on my lawn, I looked around for a place to hide or to run to. As I did, I saw the thing look around my house and head near the basement then notice me through my living room window. It made eye contact with me and then, the lightning flashed again, making me able to see its deformed face for another split second. I felt like I couldn't move. Its dark beady eyes were digging through my skin. I snapped out of it and gripped the crowbar I brought with me out of the basement and started running towards my neighbors house, which was right around the corner.
But unfortunately as I was running, I managed to slip on the wet sidewalk to see the thing standing right in front of me as the lightning flashed once again. I quickly grabbed the crowbar I dropped when I slipped and slowly began to crawl backwards, away from the humanoid. But, the monster still seemed to keep its eyes on me. I suddenly took out its leg with the crowbar to see if that would have any effect on the humanoid. Sadly, the thing was still standing and perfectly balancing on one leg. Though, the thing also continuously stared at me.
And that's when I made my move. I got back onto my feet and started running again. I'd made it to my neighbor's basement with the now one-legged humanoid monster on my tail. I quickly got in and closed the basement doors.
As I turned around, I saw my neighbor's daughter whimpering in a corner.
"I saw it...I saw it take mommy and daddy.." she muttered under her breath.
I guess the monster killed this girl's family. Poor girl. I decided to go sit beside her, to which within seconds, we began to hear banging on the basement doors as the girl covered her ears and more tears dripped out of her eyes. We suddenly heard a huge gust of wind and the house above us tear out of the ground, which led us to staring at the humanoid monster again. The tornado suddenly sucked in the monster and left us in the cold, wet basement.
The next morning, me and the girl woke up to the sound of sirens. Police officers helped us out of the wreck and gave us towels and blankets. My parents were also there, waiting beside an ambulance and talking to officers.
Off in the distance, I saw the humanoid monster impaled with a sharp part of a tree trunk. I decided to walk up closer to it to inspect it. After a bit, I thought I saw it's figure twitch and shrugged it off. Then, I saw it's leg jerk and slowly backed away. The entity might have been impaled, but it wasn't dead...
