Once upon a time, in 1796, there was a man named George Washington. He was a man who denied a third term as president. His fellow colleague Thomas Jefferson, agreed with his decision and they both proposed that there should be a limit to presidential terms. They both believed that it would weaken or abuse executive power if there were indefinite amount of terms.

I do not want to run for president again. We must put a limit to presidential terms!

I agree lets unofficially propose this idea!
But, just because they proposed this idea did not make it official. About 150 years later, a man named Franklin D. Roosevelt was reelected president for a fourth term. The people of his nation had mixed feelings, some wanted him out of office yet some had faith in him as he carried them out of World War II.

It wasn't until after Franklin D. Roosevelt's death when the 22nd amendment was officially proposed by U.S. Congress on March 21, 1947. After its proposal, it was then ratified by 3/4 of state legislatures. Finally, after four years, the 22nd amendment was officially added to the United States Constitution on February 27, 1951.

Fast forward to the year of 2020, where the 22nd amendment is being displayed in a presidential election. One of the men whom they call "Donald Trump" will either serve for a second term or a newly elected president will start their first term.

PLEASE DON"T LET HIM SERVE ANOTHER TERM!
4 MORE YEARS!
The 22nd amendment changed the American culture as people are voicing their opinions through someone they think is capable of taking care of their nation. If a president who many do not like is elected, lucky for them, they only serve for four years until the next election, determining if they serve for a second term or not.

The 22nd Amendment: was and is meant to keep elected presidents from serving a lifetime and abusing executive power of our nation.
