Go Fairy Dragons!

Teacher Rylee, what do you see?

I see 6th graders building
classroom community!
#thesecretisinthecircle

I see students respectfully listening,
discussing in a class
meeting!
I see students passing
the balloon of talking!

They are having a meeting
on anti-bullying!

Before the meeting starts,
students move their desks apart.
It's a well-oiled machine
since they know the daily routines.
They move their chairs
from table pairs
for a circle meeting
and start the greeting.

Students discuss their week,
grinning from cheek to cheek.
Students discuss hard times,
such as pinching dimes.
Their relationships will grow
more than they will ever know.
The meeting comes to a close,
and classroom unity shows.
Now their teacher stands at the door,
encouraging students to always do more.
He wishes them farewell and to take care,
thanking them for all they've shared.
"Goodbye Jamie, I'll see you tomorrow!
We will all help you through your sorrows."

His students feel supported and cared for
as they head out the classroom door.
They feel safe in this class,
making memories and sharing laughs.
For me, it's easy to see
a positive classroom community.

Teacher Josh, what do you spy?
I spy a math teacher
greeting these guys!
#greetbeforetheyseat
Here in the 7th grade,
students have it made.
Their teacher is definitely
a sage on the stage.
Starting at the door,
building a great rapport.

Greeting each student by name,
none is done quite the same.
More than just a simple hello,
each student she seems to really know.
After being welcomed in,
every student wears a grin.
Because they felt respected,
they aren't afraid to be corrected.
This teacher has a valuable skill
extending a care that feels real.
She built a community of trust
that was felt by all of us.
Greeting each student by name
builds a class as strong as a freight train!

Teacher Stephanie what do you spot?
An 8th grade science class, working together to learn a lot!
