Chapter 1
Once upon a time there lived a lady that lived in a tree house by herself that was pregnant and excited to have her baby. Nine months later, the lady went to the hospital to have the baby. It was a girl! She decided to name her Star. When she took Star home with her, she looked at her in the eyes with grace and beauty and said to her, “I will love you with all my heart no matter what happens and I will always be on your side.” Star’s little eyes twinkled at her mom’s own beautiful eyes. But three years later when Star turned three years old, her mom grew tired of her because she was very noisy. She was so tired of her that she wanted to get rid of her.
So, the next day Star’s mom took her to the orphanage far in the middle of nowhere. “Hi, I’m here for my daughter, Star,” said Star’s mom. “Well, why are you bringing her here if her parents have not died?” asked the Orphanage lady. “Oh, because I have gotten tired of her,” said Star’s mom. “Oh well!” said the Orphanage lady. Then as the Orphanage lady led Star to her dorm room, Star was already missing her mom. Seven years later when Star was ten years old, all she wanted was freedom from the Orphanage. She was so bored that she wanted to escape the orphanage right away, but she could not because the Orphanage ladies were guarding the door. Poor Star!
Chapter 2
The next morning, early in the morning, Star got up and opened the door out of her dorm room and tiptoed downstairs where the front door was. The door was near the kitchen, but it was locked. Star unlocked it and was outside four seconds later. Star didn’t find any way to escape though. Then, she remembered there was a lake near the Orphanage. Good news! There was a boat on the lake, so she hopped on and escaped the Orphanage. Two days later she was still sailing but then she saw the most beautiful building she ever saw in her life! She got off to see what the building was. She saw millions of people around her. She saw a lady standing at a counter.
The lady told her that it was a ballet school. Star didn’t like ballet much, but she still wanted to give it a try. She walked up the stairs to the changing room. As she was getting dressed, she thought what ballet might be about. Then Star braided her hair because she didn’t want her hair to be messy during ballet training. As she walked up the stairs, she was a little nervous. Then she saw all the people dancing all around her. Star was trembling from the nerves. Then the headmaster of the ballet walked over to her like he was a little mad at her. Now Star’s stomach felt all queasy inside. “Ahem”, said the man. “Yes?” asked Star. “What is your name?” he asked in kind of a strict voice. “My name is Star,” replied Star. “Star is a very odd name!” he said. “Anyway, get to class. We are doing warm-ups right now,” said the headmaster again.
“Okay,” said Star. Two hours after ballet practice, Star did NOT want to do that AGAIN! She was sweating so much that she needed a shower. Besides Star did not even take a shower in seven years!!! But as she was getting on the boat to sail somewhere else, she saw a beaver in front of her. “Hi there, little beaver. Are you lost?” Star asked. The beaver nodded. “You can hear me?!” Star asked again. The beaver nodded again. Then the beaver burst out wings from the inside of its body! “Holy cheese and macaroni!” cried Star. The beaver shook his head like ‘Come on’. Star hopped on the beaver and just the two of them took off for the sky! “I think I’ll name you Alex,” said Star as they were flying. Then, nine hours later, they arrived at a very colorful neighborhood. “Woah!” said Star in amazement.
“This neighborhood is very colorful!”. Then they went to the other side. It was the city part. It was kind of a medium sized city. “Oh, where will we live Alex?” asked Star. “Wait, I think I see a little campsite over there. Come on Alex, fly us over there,” exclaimed Star. As they flew to the campsite, Star saw a lot of people there. “Why, hello,” said an old guy. “My name is Matthew, and this is Poppy, Branch, Biggie, Guy, Shatin, Shanelle, Cooper, Barb, Brian, Mochi, and Hickory.” “Hi,” said Star. “My name is Star, and this is Alex.” Can I live with you guys?” asked Star begging them. “I don’t know if there are enough beds,” said Matthew. “Please,” begged Star. “Okay, fine,” said Matthew. “Yay,” said Star. “Okay now all of you guys get to bed,” demanded Matthew.
Chapter 3
Two years later, when Star was twelve years old, her life changed a lot. She escaped the Orphanage, took ballet lessons, found a flying pet, and she was raised at a campsite. She started to go explore the city. “Hey dad,” said Star. “Where do you think YOUR going?” asked her dad, Matthew. “I’m going for a fly with Alex to the Sky Castle,” said Star. The Sky Castle was a place in the clouds where Star and Alex would go for free time. “You are not going anywhere young lady,” said Matthew. “Dad, it’s not fair that you let my brothers and sisters explore the city and you don’t let me,” explained Star. “Because you’re the youngest,” said dad. “Okay bye,” said Star and she and Alex took off for the Sky Castle.
At the Sky Castle, there were real life potions and I mean REAL POTIONS! There was a Big Head potion, a Hyper Speed potion, an Anti-Gravity potion, a Grow potion, and a Levitation potion. There was also a big staircase that led to a door and that door led outside to where a trampoline was. Star and Alex would always jump there and could always see the view of the beautiful city. But when Star and Alex were jumping, Alex smelled so stinky that he needed a shower. The only problem is that there was no place to take a shower. Not even at the campsite! But Star had a BFF named Nixie that she wanted to visit first. So, she and Alex flew to Nixies cave, which was underwater for some reason. When Star and Alex arrived at Nixies cave, they were so happy to see each other. “Star!” said Nixie. “Nixie!” shouted Star.
They greeted each other with their special handshake. “Popstar, Diva, Gymnast, Morning Jogger, Ice skater, Cheerleader, Biker, Glitter Girl, and, Flower Girl”. They both said at the same time. “It’s been so long since we have seen each other!” said Star. “I know right?” said Nixie. “Yeah, totally!” said Star. “Hahaha!” Laughed Nixie. “OMG I almost forgot that Alex needs a shower”, said Star. “Oh, well anyway bye,” said Nixie. “Bye Nixie,” said Star. But Star didn’t just have Alex. She also had a pair of roller skates. So, instead of flying on Alex, she rode on the roller skates with him. As they went in the neighborhood, Star could see a very old treehouse. “Hey, Alex stop for a second,” said Star. When they knocked on the door, nobody answered. Star decided to try to open the door herself.
It was unlocked! “Hello, is anyone home?” asked Star. She searched around the house, but nobody was home. What seemed weird to Star, was that the treehouse was old and rusty on the outside but clean and neat on the inside. “Oh, thank goodness there’s a bathroom over here. Come on Alex, get in the shower,” said Star.
After Alex finished his shower, Star told him that she saw a school in the city, and it might be good for Alex to make friends and learn new things. “Come on Alex. We are going to ride to that school in the city,” Star told him. When they arrived at the school, Star hoped that there would be a pet area. Star was happy to see that there was. But right when they walked in, there was a door that looked more like a portal. “Holy cheese and macaroni! Alex look at that portal!,” exclaimed Star.
“Come on Alex, everything will be okay,” said Star. Right after Star said that, Alex bit Star on the leg. “OW!”, exclaimed Star. “What was THAT for, Alex?” Star asked. “Wait, I think I know why Alex bit me. He doesn’t want me to go through the portal,” thought Star. “The pets right,” said a guy named Shane. “That portal leads to the most magical place in the world!” explained Shane. “Still, I want to see the most magical place on Earth,” said Star. Then, Star and Alex went through the portal and in less than five seconds, they were already in the most magical place on Earth. It was Nixies cave! While Star and Alex were walking toward Nixie, they saw that her clothes and her cave were all black and red. “Hi Nixie! Why is your cave and clothes all black and red?”, asked Star. “What are you doing here Star? I hate you so much! Get out of my cave!”, demanded Nixie.
“Nixie, what is going on with you?” asked Star again. “None of your business you loser. You’re mine now,” cried Nixie. “Now if you will excuse me, I am going to turn the whole entire city, including the neighborhood, all black, red, and evil! Nixie yelled to the tree branches, “hold on to Star, and don’t let her get away.” “I won’t let you do this,” screamed Star. “Too late, you should have not come through that portal,” yelled Nixie. Then Star pulled off the branches as hard as she could and found a black and red key lying on the ground with the power of evil on it and whoever touched would become evil. Star ran through the key in the five pet portals that Nixie told her about when she first met her and went back through the portal. In less than five seconds she was back at the school. “Woah, did you just come through that portal?”, asked Shane when Star came back.
“Yes, I did,” said Star. “Oh no Alex, we need to report to Dad.” Anyway, by Shane,” said Star. “Bye,” said Shane. “OMG Dad, Alex and I are okay. Please don’t worry about us. Please!” begged Star. “I worried about you so much. Now, what happened?” asked dad. “Well first, me and Alex went to the Sky Castle. Next, Alex needed a shower, so we went to visit Nixie. Then, Nixie found a place for Alex to shower, which was a treehouse. When Alex was done with his shower, I told him that there was a school I wanted to know about, so we went there. Then, right when we got to the pet area, there was a portal that led to the most magical place on Earth! Last, when I went through the portal, I saw Nixie again. But this time her clothes and her cave were all black and red. Next, I saw a key and threw it in five pet portals.
I went through the portal again and I came back here”, explained Star. “Can I live in the treehouse I was talking about?”, asked Star. “Of course!” said Dad. “Thank you so much Dad! Don’t forget I love you. All of you! Bye Dad. By everyone,” said Star “by,” they all said. Star and Alex took off for the sky.
Chapter 4
Two years later, when Star was now fourteen years old, she said “I wish I could start High School so I can make new friends and learn new things.” But right after Star said that, the weirdest thing happened. She literally ended up in a High School in another city far away from the one she lived in. “Wait a minute, how did I get here?” asked Star to herself. But the worst thing was that Alex wasn’t with her. “Alex, where are you?” shrieked Star. Now she knew that Alex probably wasn’t supposed to come with her. RING!!! A loud bell rang. “What was THAT? Is there a problem?” asked Star. “That’s the morning bell. We are late,” said another student.
As Star walked into the big school, she thought “maybe High School is too scary for me.” So, Star literally ran through the hallway. When she reached the end of the hallway, she saw stairs going down yet she was on the first floor of the school. “Hmmm, maybe it’s a basement”, Star thought to herself. So, she slowly went down the stairs. When she was down, she saw a key that had the school logo on it. Star tried to unlock the basement with the key, and it worked. Star opened the door very slowly. She was right. It was a basement. “HEY, YOU NEW GIRL, WHERE ARE YOU?", shouted a student. “Oh no!”, said Star. Star shut the door right away. The basement looked big though. Then as she was looking around, she saw space that was covered in boxes. She looked to see if someone was there. Nobody was there. Just her.
Six hours later, when school was over, Star decided to get out of the basement to go have some food outside of the school. When Star got outside, she found a skateboard. “Hmmm, this might be useful,” thought Star to herself. Star rode on the skateboard until she reached a place called Sunblock’s café. “That might be good!” said Star. When she got inside, she saw a lady standing at a counter “Hi, welcome to Sunblock’s café. How can I help you?” asked the lady. “Hi, I would love to get a cup of coffee, but I don’t have any money,” said Star. “Oh. Well you can get it for free,” said the lady again kindly. “Awesome!” said Star. “And I would like a donut with a cup of coffee please,” asked Star. “Okay,” said the lady. As Star walked out of the café, she saw a building called Club Red. “Huh, I wonder what that is,” said Star to herself.
Chapter 5
When Star walked in, she heard music everywhere. There was a dance floor and another guy standing at a counter. “Hi. I’m Morpholines welcome to Club Red,” he said. “Hi Morpholines, I’m Star,” said Star introducing herself. “Well, Star guess what. Did you know that we make potions here?” asked Morpholines. “No way!” said Star surprised. “You know, you can get a job here if you want,” said Morpholines. “Awesome! I am so getting a job here,” said Star. “Okay then,” said Morpholines again. “But first I want to try some potions,” said Star. “Okay. “Okay. There is Witch’s Brew, Epic Spice, Green Spice, Ghastly Brew, Dragon Fire, and the Golden Chalice of Fame,” explained Morpholines.
“Awesome! I’m going to try them all,” said Star. First, Star drank the Witch’s Brew potion. “OH MY GOD! MY HEAD IS LITERALLY CHANGING COLORS,” screamed Star. Next, Star drank the Epic Spice potion. “AHH! THIS IS SO SPICY THAT MY HEAD IS SPINNING,” screamed Star again. Then, Star drank the Green Spice potion. “OH, JEEZ I AM GOING OUT OF CONTROL,” screamed Star again. After that, Star drank the Ghastly Brew. “OH MY GOD! I’M INVISIBLE,” shrieked Star. After that, Star drank the Dragon Fire potion. “AHH! I’M LITERALLY BREATHING FIRE,” shrieked Star again. When Star drank the Golden Chalice of Fame, people were following her everywhere. “Uh, why are people following me everywhere?” asked Star. “Because that’s how the potion is. You become famous and people follow you everywhere you go,” explained Morpholines.
RING!!! The bell rang from nowhere! “OMG! DID I JUST SPEND ALL NIGHT HERE?” asked Star. “Yeah I guess you did,” said Morpholines. “Anyway, bye Morpholines,” said Star waving. “Bye Star,” said Morpholines, waving back. Star was not even late for school, even though last time she didn’t want to go. But this time she was brave and stepped into the classroom. When school was over for the day, Star felt like her heart was full of friendship. Because of the teacher’s, the kid’s, and Morpholines. That night when she went to bed in the basement, she was dreaming about what school would be tomorrow and the rest of the school year.
Chapter 6
Two years later, Star was 16 years old. She was now on her third year of high school. One day in science though, the class was studying mermaids. Even though mermaids don’t exist, the class was still studying them. After school that day, Star went to Club Red to hang out with Morpholines, her bestest friend. The next day after school, Star went to the basement and said to herself, “It would be cool if I was a mermaid”. Then just like that, Star ended up in a small town in Australia. “Oh, my lord! How did I end up here?” asked Star to herself. But then, she saw a pink hut. “Hmm maybe there are some people that I can live with,” said Star to herself. As she walked to the hut and knocked on the door she noticed that people really lived there.
“Oh, hi there. Are you lost?” they asked. “Kind of,” answered Star. “WELL COME ON IN!” shouted the people. “Anyway, what’s your name?” they asked. “My name is Star,” she answered. “Well we can be your mum and dad,” they said. “Sweet!” said Star. The next day, Star asked her new mom and dad if she can go out. “Okay. You can definitely go out,” they said. But Star wanted to go see the water fountain near the café. Star just sat there staring at the top of the water fountain. Five minutes later, an old lady came near her. “Hey you girl. Over here. Now listen carefully,” started the old woman. You see that water fountain? “Yeah,” said Star. “Well you are a mermaid” said the lady again. “WHAT?” asked Star. “Yes. Now here. You need to take this moon ring. “A mood ring, cool!” said Star.
“No, a MOON ring,” said the lady again. “Now this ring holds the power of mermaids. “Really?” asked Star so surprised. “Yes, now go on to the ocean to Mermaid Island and maybe you will find the mermaid stone,” said the lady. “Mermaid stone?” asked Star. “Yes, the mermaid stone. But if you touch it, something cool will happen,” said the lady. “Okay I will go to Mermaid Island and try to find that mermaid stone,” said Star. Star didn’t know how to get to Mermaid Island. Wait, but she just remembered that yesterday when she was exploring the town, she saw a lake that led to the ocean and there were boats there. So, Star went to that lake and she did find boats there. She asked the guy next to the boats if she could borrow one. Star took off for mermaid island in search of the stone.
One hour later, Star arrived at Mermaid Island but didn’t find the stone yet. Next, Star decided to climb the mountain, but then she slipped. “AHH,” screamed Star. Suddenly, Star ended up in which looked like a cave. Star looked up. It was night. Star decided to jump in the water. There was no one in the cave. It was just her by herself. Then, Star could feel that her legs felt funny. Ten seconds later, Star was a mermaid! “WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED?!” shrieked Star. “I am swimming out of here,” said Star to herself. As Star swam out, she was breathing and talking at the same time. But then, Star was swimming so fast, she couldn’t stop. Then, which only seemed like a minute long, Star was resting on land. “Oh God, I’m now a mermaid forever,” shrieked Star.
Even though she knew she was a mermaid forever, she still wanted to swim. As she swam near Mermaid Island, she saw a lot of fish swimming nearby. She even saw some dolphins. Star stayed in the ocean as a mermaid for about three days already. Then Star decided to go back to Mermaid Island quick. She just wanted to relax in the cave water. As Star was about to sit on the rocks, she literally became a human again. “Oh my God! How did I become a human again?” Star asked herself. After that, Star got out of the cave. But just then as Star was going near the ocean, she saw a little shell. “The mermaid stone,” whispered Star to herself. Star was going to touch it but was a little nervous of what might happen. Two minutes later Star picked up the stone and less than 3 seconds later she was at the beach, still holding the stone!
“Wow! So, if you pick up the mermaid stone it will teleport you to the beach,” said Star surprised to herself. “HEY, SOMEONE IS HOLDING THE MERMAID STONE,” yelled someone nearby. “CAN WE TOUCH IT?” asked another person. “Of course, you can touch it,” said Star. Then everyone started touching it. “Thank you for letting us touch the stone,” said someone else. “You’re welcome,” said Star kindly. As Star was walking home, she was thinking about still being a mermaid. “Oh Star. Where have you been?” asked Star’s parents. “I’m fine, I’m fine,” said Star. “Star, its literally almost nighttime,” explained Star’s parents. “Now come on and have some dinner.” “Okay,” said Star. As Star went to bed that night, she thought about what an adventure she had over the past few days. “I wonder,” she whispered to herself.
Chapter 7
Star is now 18 years old and began going to Mermaid Island once a week. The more she went the more tired she was of going there. But the thing was, Star didn’t want to be a mermaid anymore. She was kind of sick of the water. “I wish I was a fairy,” she said to herself. Suddenly, Star was literally in Fairyland and was now a fairy. Her hair was in two ponytails. She was wearing a purple leaf dress, purple shoes with white pom-poms and a pair of white translucent wings. “I look beautiful!” said Star. “Woah! Look at that tree. Is it a pixie tree?” she asked herself. “But the thing is, how do I fly?” she asked herself. “You just think about what you want the wings to do and they’ll do it,” said a pixie.
“Oh okay,” replied Star. So, Star tried it out and it worked. “Woah,” said Star. “Now I’m going to try to get to the pixie tree,” said Star again. As Star was flying to the pixie tree, she saw a lot of fairy dust. “Great job!” said the pixie. “And by the way my name is Arthur,” said the pixie again. “My name is Star,” replied Star. “Oh, look there’s a bunny over there,” said Star. “Want to ride it together?” asked Star. “Of course!” said Arthur. So, Star and Arthur rode on the bunny. They even fed the bunny carrots together. “Well, it was nice spending time together,” Star told Arthur after they rode on the bunny. “It was nice seeing you too,” responded Arthur. “Wait a minute. There’s a dandelion seed over there,” said Star. “Oh yeah there is,” noticed Arthur. “Want to go catch it together?” asked Star. “I wouldn’t see why not,” answered Arthur.
