Most of the people wanted him to become king.

Once upon a time there was a man named Julius Caesar.
Most of the people wanted him to become king.
There was only one problem... He wanted to take too
much control.
Some people who lived in Rome felt that he would be too
greedy to be a good king.

Soon the people who thought he had too much
power formed a group called the conspirators.

They met on Pompey’s Porch to create a plan.
They then convinced Caesar’s good friend
Brutus to join the group.

Caesar decided to go get his
crown.
On their way there, the
soothsayer and a man named
Artemidorus both try to warn
Caesar not to go on.
But because Caesar was so
excited, he didn’t listen to
them.

It was Decius, telling Caesar to come with him
so he could take part in his own crowning
ceremony.
Calpurnia was very against Caesar going to the
town square, but Decius said that her dream
was not of him dying.
It was because of a battle over him because
he was so important.

After they had all of the members they
needed, they started making a plan to kill
Caesar.
At a public gathering, a
guy called the
Soothsayer warned
Caesar of his death.

Later, they planned on crowning Caesar as the
official king of Rome.
Caesar was very excited when he heard he was
going to be crowned.

The next night, Caesar’s
wife, Calpurnia had a
bad dream about Caesar
bleeding badly.
As she was telling him
about this dream, a
knock came at the door.

Once there, Caesar makes a short speech.
After he his finished with his speech, Casca, one of
the conspirators, stabs Caesar.
The rest of the conspirators join in, including
Brutus.

It makes Caesar very sad that his friend is
trying to kill him.
Caesar asks Brutus why he is part of this evil
plan, but dies before Brutus can answer.
Chaos breaks out among the people of Rome.

In the middle of the craziness, Marc Antony,
one of Caesar’s loyal assistants, went up to
Brutus to ask him why they did this.
Cassius, the leader of the conspirators, tells
Brutus not to trust Antony, but Brutus does
anyways.
